I went into production around Sep 21 and the projected completion is Oct 13.
Looks like they are running about 3 weeks in status 150 (Production started)

Do any dealerships in the US have i7’s to see in person yet?

I’m a repeat customer at my dealer in chicago, but they told me there are 6 people ahead of me. Is it worth shopping around at other dealerships?

Everybody seems to have a waiting list. For both i7's and 760's. I was #8 on my dealer's 760 list. Is it worth shopping around? Sure, and good luck. Maybe you will find somebody who has an allocation that is unspoken for.

Did you have any options selected other than the driving and parking packages?

BTW Oct 3 is a MAJOR holiday in Germany with almost everything shut down (reunification day I think). The factory may keep going but the office people who update status may have been off for a long weekend. Just a theory . . .

Just got an email today from BMW saying the order is in first step, order is confirmed.
Vin will be confirmed as well as production number once they make room in the production schedule. This is for a I7

Yup I got the same email. I already have my production number, have it for about 2 weeks. Do you have your production number. I am #1 on my dealers list. Hoping that helps a little.

Received the same email today. Also received my production number today. I am #1 on my dealers list for the i7 but no week of production given to me yet.

I also received the same email, but the confirmation had the wrong exterior color. I hope they will change it to the right one without me losing my place in whatever line there is.

Nothing special other than the 21 inch wheels, When I called genius they said that it might be a missing part issue which doesn't make sense for me because they know the parts they need before going into production and hence locking the vehicle in status 150 for three weeks to get all parts. They even made my production day one week earlier.

Yeah I know about that Unity day or something however I got like three updates regarding assembly on 9/30 and in most situations if you don't pass status 155 on production day you are doomed for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. i was also following another dealer demo 760 that i was supposed to buy before getting my production number, which finished production 9/26 and today status was updated to transit on a ship. So the only good news here that it seems that they are going quicker now in shipping cars .

Just got the same email that my order is received. First on my dealers list. He said the 2 allocations for i7 were February builds. Don't know if I'll be buying it since I just got into my M3. But I'll see when it gets here.

Has anyone received a confirmation email or production number for a car with individual paint other than the two-tone or individual colors listed on the configurator?

I received an email saying my order was confirmed but the color was wrong, now I am told it will not go into production until at least March.

Good luck, and let's all stay connected here. I'm still at status 150 with a production date supposedly Oct 13. Strange that the dealer demo got past qulity check and is on a boat.

p.s. the website tracker ("my garage") seems not to be working.

Is this for an i7? I called BMW genius about two weeks ago and they told me I was production week #4 which is mid January, so looks like I got a pretty good slot? I am going to call them back next week to see if there is an update. I got the Frozen Deep Grey exterior color so I am hoping that does not delay the build too much.

Pre order in Order Bank but no production no yet. What does this mean?

my preorder for i7 (placed June 3) is now in the BMW oder bank but I dont have a production number yet. The Sales rep says that the next step is Production number to be assigned by BMW.
can anyone with more experience explain what being in the order bank mean and how long before a production number to be assigned?

Yes sure , As for me I am still stuck at 155 which i am sure will be at least 4 weeks , An SA from another dealership told me that their demo cars are affected by a stop sale for the fuel pump so maybe that's why my car got stuck as soon as they found out about this , Hopefully this won't happen with your car
You will start seeing updates on Oct 10 and Oct 13 it should enter quality check and then hopefully in the same day awaiting carrier assignment . good luck !

Entering your order into the order bank doesn't mean much, it just means that your dealer entered your order into a BMW database.

Once a month, BMW releases production slots for vehicles to dealers. Your dealer will assign these slots to the orders in the order bank. Note that the assignment process is fully determined by the dealer and your dealer doesn't need to prioritize order by date or anything. Your dealer can skip your (or other people's) order and assign the slots to someone else or to a dealer order.

Once that happens, you will receive a production number which means you are now assigned a slot in the BMW production schedule and your car will be produced (barring shortages, etc...). At this point, you will know when your car is scheduled to be produced.

I got my production number about two weeks ago. I am the #1 slot at my dealership and when I called BMW genius I am production week #4 putting me in the middle of January. From what I've been told I should be getting one of the first (non dealer) i7's in the Country. Does anyone else having something earlier? The dealership could just be blowing smoke so who knows lol
