Buying my BMW was smooth and easy, trying to buy a Hellcat Durango (and failing to) was a nightmare. Dodge dealers will refuse to go e you an actual price until you're in the store. Said their district manager told them not to, because"customers will take those printouts and try to use them with other dealers for a better price". Like yeah, that's our job as the customer to seek the best price we can. All that to say, the people I know who have nicer Hyundai's (Palisade has replaced a TON of German SUVs at our daycare because they're nicer, more reliable, and cheaper -not one parent that has made the switch has said anything negative about them) or Genesis (it's popular with the retirees in my neighborhood too) have had a y complaints, especially not about the dealer. Maybe we have a uniquely good dealer? Maybe the overall image is tarnished by subpar customers that used to buy most Hyundais? I dunno, I don't have the answer here, but if they built the right car, and didn't do something stupid with like subscriptions and stuff like that, I'd consider them. |

These are some of the best-looking vehicles to come out lately. New BMWs, and many others, are just ugly.
Re: BlkGS's constant bashing of BMW lately. I'm sorry you had issues with your X5, but I don't know what the point of constantly claiming they're poorly engineered is? My counter is my two current flawless BMWs, my previous BMW, my in-law's countless BMWs over the years, many of my wife's friends drive BMWs, nearly all her colleagues drive BMWs & none that I am aware of have any issues to complain about. And no offense, complaining about BMW quality and then talking about trying to buy a Durango Hellcat in the same paragraph tanks the credibility of your complaints. Dodge is consistenly ranked as one of the worst quality/reliable manufacturers on the planet. |

My wife’s Kia that she had for 7 years was very well built and incredibly reliable. She just traded on another Kia. The Koreans used to make terrible cars but that was some time ago now. Just go in with an open mind. The real crap is all Chinese now but they will likely improve with time. History repeating itself.

That said, I wasn't buying the Hellcat for reliability, though frankly I think that's probably one of the most reliable Carson the road. Forged pushrod motor without AFM, ZF8 transmission, beefy differentials and transfer case.... It's a recipe for a reliable vehicle outside of electronics and knowing for a fact your rear taillight panel would screw up. Anyway, my point of all of that was dealer experience matters..you can have the best cars with the worst dealer and hate it, or have the worst cars with the best dealer and like it. I had a friend who's wife had a series of Land Rovers. They were JUNK. Constantly broken, constant issues, but every time something went wrong (very often) they drove out to their house with a loaner, usually a Range Or er, gave her that car, and took hers back. The service kept them coming back despite the cars being total crap. |

The build sheet, however, said it had all the gloss black components. Jeep refused to replace any of the non-black items because they said "the build sheet says it came with them". The dealership's Regional Director refused to do anything because we were out-of-state customers. Upon getting it home, the massage seats never worked, the electrical was glitchy as hell, the software kept getting errors, the leather on the steering wheel came off in a few hundred miles, and the steering wheel buttons would not sit in the steering wheel completely (design flaw). The local dealer said "I'm not gonna really go to bat for you on these items because you didn't buy it from me". So we traded it in on the X3MC after about 9 months of ownership. The only positive was that we purchased it for 6% below invoice, so we hardly lost anything on the trade-in. In total, I've owned 16 CDJ vehicles from Wranglers to Grand Cherokees to a 300 SRT 8, and others. Every one was a nightmare dealership experience if I needed service or warranty work. |

That said, every other interaction I've had with a CDJR dealer sucked. Getting a dealer to call you back to buy a HC Durango was step 1. They won't give you a quote on one until you're in person, because they don't want to disclose all the junk fees they add on. One sales guy literally told me that none of the dealers in FL would give me a written estimate unless I was in person because their district management prohibits them from doing so, to try to increase transaction prices. As much as I liked the HC Durango, I hated the dealer experience and just simply couldn't bring myself to give them that much money. If any brand needed direct sales.options, it's Stellantis. But their MSRPs are all jacked up to the moon, so direct sales will still be a rip off. That said, Stellantis still sucks. The transfer case for it requires a fluid change every 30k miles. Some time after they went from FCA to Stellantis, they discontinued the fluid they take. With no replacement for it, just whatever stock of it is left. Oh and it's $100 a quart, and takes 2 quarts. |

Looking at these Genesis SUVs, I kinda like there are no options to choose from & everything is included. The GV70 with the black and orange looks great - anything orange calls to me
The wife will not own any EV, so the Magma GV60 is a no go. |

I was one the first owners, purchased GV60P in 9/2022. Put around 40k miles on it and last month gave it to our son... Had several recalls- one hardware, others all software. The biggest complaint across the board- dealer service (some techs are appallingly incompetent), no promised valet or loaners sometimes for weeks, even though I became friendly with SM (he drives G81) and, in general, didn't have a problem. This car is excellent-tech, performance, ergonomics... I only wish it had another 50-70 miles of range and better app. Magma will be even better... Not a fan of "looking fast" parts on Magma, though...
