New Q5 is just around the corner, I would wait.
The current SQ5 is such a underrated suv. My buddy has had one for a couple years, fantastic automobile. They are great value right now in the used market. |

I drove the SQ5 a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I wasn't ready to pull the trigger on an SUV though. You can get a killer deal on them right now though so if you're in the market, I personally would go for it.

My wife drives a 4Runner LTD and we are looking at downsizing since we just bought my son a car. Looked at the SQ5 and it is really nice, but once I saw the new Jag F Pace I knew that would be the one. Haven't driven one yet since they are brand new, but all reviews have been off the charts positive as the new small SUV king. Not totally sold on Jag reliability, but I have heard it has gotten better recently.

My wife loves her SQ5. Currently at just over 20k miles. No issues except sunroof rattles and lower door panels scratch easy. She wishes it had just a bit more tech in it and when we travel it would be nice to have a little more trunk room. It has good power, handles well and looks great. Sounds good but I'm pretty sure it uses active sound of some sort. Steering is decent at high speed but feels artificial, especially at low speed. Our lease will be up in 1.5 years and may buy it outright, look at the new GLC AMG 45 or 63, or upsizing to a larger class. Hope that helps.

Turbo...yes. The S, that is debatable. I found the supercharged V6 and 8sp automatic a lot smoother in the SQ5. It does feel slightly larger as well, more usable space. Depends what your are looking for really. If I was getting the Macan it would have to be the Turbo or at least the GTS. Lease rates are attractive right now for the Macan.

Although, the Macan S MSRP is similar, you will not get anywhere near the discounts you can on the SQ5. The demand for the Macan is just too high.
