Both are beautiful sedans.

I personally like what they did with this refresh! More presence than the initial bland offering!

Don't know about interior but the 7 definitely looks better than the S class

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. The G11 initially looked very bland. These updates, including the grille, really modernize the look. They needed to do something about the front end as it looked very plain and frumpy next to the S-class.

Interior however is still a weak point for the 7er. Tech is great, door design is great, quality is first-class, but unfortunately the dash is still its bland old self. That is the focal point of the car and was left unaddressed. I suppose they figured it wasn't worth the cost for a car being totally redesigned in 3-4 yrs tops.

BINGO!!!! It has to be the most blah "Flagship" vehicle out there IMO. And don't get me started with the Tablet sticking out of the dash. I will NEVER get over that...
This new front end is MUCH closer to the concept which was stunning!

I also want to make a point that may be getting severely overlooked... Think of the S Class above or a Bentley or particularly a Rolls Royce. What do they share in common?
A "Grill/Face with Presence".

The S class is nicer than the 7 . I wonder if they'll ever make a 7 series that looks better than an S ?? Seems like it's never gonna happen .

I don't believe the 7er mission has ever been to be an equal alternative to the S Class.

I and I am certain, BMW would disagree! That is the EXACT purpose of this car: Full Sized Luxury Sedan/Saloon competitor. As is the Audi A8 and Lexus LS.

That may be it, but the 7er has always had a sportier nature than the S Class and would venture to say the rather obscure A8.
