Burbles in a 740?

I know it might be a dumb question but tbh im just curious... has anyone had burbles in their stock 740i? sometimes when I rev it I feel like theres almost mini rly quiet ones but idk how to really extract them? I'm still under warranty and don't really want to void it whilst I still have this drivetrain malfunction so an aftermarket isnt an option right now...

It does exists in both the 740/750. It's just silenced by the multiple mufflers and silencers. Removing them will make it louder.

Warranty will only be affected for the exhaust system.

The burbles/cracks from my 750i exhaust is not anything like my M4 competition or an M5 competition, and is similar to my 435i except deeper. I think they improved the 2020 M760i.

New 2020 750 exhaust is vastly improved over pre-lci.

It hardly can be called "improved". Sounds a lot louder and noisier than pre LCI. Not good, it is already plenty loud. More so than necessary.

I got to drive an LCI and there is a noticeable difference between Pre-LCI and LCI. I do like the exhaust note on the LCI in sport I've always felt on the 750is it should have some exhaust note to it. It's way too quiet right now.

Sounds like you need the quieter 740 then. Like most people, I actually enjoy the rumble of the V8.

I havent heard the 750i in person but the stock exhaust in vids sounds so quiet in comparison to my 740. Esp on startup… I wonder if its just the videos. The burbles in a 435i is something i'm aiming for with mine tbh but I dont wanna ruin the image of the car at the same time..

I really wonder why they don't make certain things for there entire line up about two months ago I put a MPE kit on my f15 and it sounds awesome especially on cold starts and if they had one for the 7 omg I can only just imagine how great that would sound.... I also have a guy in my neighborhood who did a Dinan exhaust on his 7 and to be honest I couldn't tell the difference between his and my M sport exhaust 🤷🏼

At some point when I get time I plan to replace the stock silencers with a single aftermarket part and see if it improves the sound some while still keeping it a luxury sedan. Don't need it sounding like my M5 lol.

I do have a stage 1 tune and I do hear burbles on the stock system so I wonder what it would sound like with the changes. Def don't want it sounded like popcorn in a far can.

I think a tune would be enough for me as long as I can easily remove it and add it back on before I go back to dealer... What tune are you running? Would you recommend bm3?

I'm running DME tuning. They've been great to work with and their tunes have been solid. Had them on my F10 M5. Defiantly transforms the car.

BM3 isn't available for the 750i but it is available for the 740. The hardware I've heard great things about, don't you still need to get a custom tune? I know BM3 has some canned tunes but A custom will always be the better route.

Mo from DME loaded the software on my computer and showed me how to swap between stock and tune. It's been very easy to do. I've done it a few times so far.

I'm not sure If I can get a DME tune here in the uk, Bm3 is available though and it does seem tempting... I'll probably end up getting it and putting a ready made stage 1 tune just to get a feel for it. If im correct you can use it for 2 cars as well?

DME can tune remotely wherever your at. If I recall the BM3 license is for that VIN. The hardware can be moved but you'll have to get the licensing. Remember BM3 is just hardware that gives you the ability to load cloud based tunes. They do have off the shelf tunes available (canned) which I've heard good and bad things about. Tunes aren't a one size fits all. I like the features BM3 have in addition to the ability to tune on the fly and load different maps easily. Plus data logging and what not. My recommendation is BM3 with HCP or DME map files that are customized to your car.

If your just looking for stage 1. Maybe a one time tune is the way to go which is letting dme or HCP directly load and you can swap via computer saving you the money spent on BM3.

That sounds really practical for me actually... The most important thing for me is to be able to easily swap between stock and tuned. Also a stage 1 tune would still extract some more burbles right? Not too over the top but something tasteful would be really nice.

You'll have to find a tune that enables burble. Mine has it and I'll admit the stock exhaust is way too good. I barely hear anything. I'm going to experiment with removing silencers to see if i can get more V8 rumble.

Made a new discovery today lol. So as always everytime I start my car it acts like a cold start no matter how hot it is, sort of like a startup roar, I think every b58 is like this. Anyways, if I rev the car whilst the car is in this stage it burbles like crazyyy.. The earlier the more loll. I didnt try too much cuz I wasn't too sure if this is good for the car? But I just thought it would be nice to share and if anyone has any thoughts on if this is ok for the car, etc...
