Barring the hideously ostentatious front grills the rest of the car is great. Significant gains the the engine department.

LOVE IT!!! Finally all the extra $$$ you pay for the "Flagship", doesn't look like a elongated 4 Series.

To keep the designers in check BMW needs to impose a proportion and size limit for the kidneys on their cars like the "H" kink in the rear window. The car can grow in size overall but the proportion should stay classic. This thing is horrifically ugly with that kidney design. The rest of the car looks good...such a shame.

So somebody is going to to tell the designers how to design? I would suspect that there is high management sign off on designs already. The right proportion to one person is the wrong proportion to another. I agree with those that see the design as a departure from the "sameness" with the 5 series. Whether I like it or not will await seeing it in person in three dimensions rather than in photos.

Someone has to reign in that craziness...

Craziness is in the eye of the beholder. You may think it is crazy but many others may disagree. There may also be some who do not like the grille but neverthless buy the car. Example: There were lots of people who thought BMW was crazy to build a SUV (same for Porsche), but if they were crazy they were crazy like the proverbial fox.

I am not saying you are "wrong" by the way, as I've not seen an LCI, and in any event individuals have different style tastes. Nobody who thinks the new grille is wrongly proportioned is "wrong" just as people who like it are not wrong either. The test for BMW will be one thing only -- sales.

Looking fancy, though in general not so much different than the previous one.

Drive Recorder

Available thru the online store. Free for first 30 days. Uses the 4 cameras above (standard For 2020) recording at all times, saving 40 seconds pre accident.

Separately, I was swooned by the 40% larger grill and the modified rear. Looks thoroughly modern, imo.

Can anyone please tell me what the button pictured does?? It's just a silhouette of a car with an up/down arrow and it doesn't seem to do anything when I press it.

It will raise your car 20mm. Good for bad road but will default back to normal ride height if speed goes above approx. 40km/h. Slow blinking of the led indicated adjustment in process (up or down), rapid flashing button indicates that no adjustment is currently possible - be it either speed or steering angle dependent. Solid green indicates ride height raised.

Dont really know why it's not doing anything in your case.
