I, myself, I come on this section of forum to get info on the car and model I am interested in or concerned with. Sometimes I also help where people ask questions or advices and sometimes I also leave a reply where I see or feel there is something wrong or there is a mistake. If someone come on this forum because he is currently in the market to buy a luxury such as the 7 series, he will be here to get info but also to ask questions, but he will not be jumping here and there on several posts of the forum including those of other models to say I like this, I take that (oh and different cars) and on top react aggressively and offensively when someone points out something that seem wrong from one of his replies. So, this puts the question of the purpose of nathanM4 here. Like you yourself said, someone cannot just create hype like this and also as is in my point, someone posted as if he already decided that people should get the W223 over the G11 because he thinks there is no comparison between the two, that the W223 is miles ahead of the G11. He himself neither test drove the W223 nor does he have any other experience with it. There are hardly any proper test reviews of this car yet; the car itself has not been released. He does not even know which of those features hyped here and there will be available in his region. He basically decided between the W223 and the G11 based only on seeing pictures and maybe videos. Is this how someone decides between two car these days? But no, according to nathanM4, I am trying to control or force him against his opinions or wishes, and he said this will end bad for me, all this just because I replied back to his post to point out that he is trying to show something by making comparison between an older generation car from one brand with the latest generation of another brand. I think I said enough. Last edited by Shantosh Seewooruttun; 09-09-2020 at 06:01 AM.. |

What I can say with some certainty is that the competition between MB and BMW spurs each to be better, which is a good thing.

I think Mercedes makes an amazing car. I’ve had an e63 and a GL450. Liked both.
And yes, the s-class might very well be at the top of the class. But, I’m only 50 years young and not ready to drive the “rich old guy” car yet. Drove an s560 4matic three months ago. If I had to drive from DC to LA, I might want to drive it. But, that said, it was too staid for me to drive every day at this point in my life. 7-series and s-class are somewhat similar, but somewhat different, and like fine leather shoes, they fit each person differently. Is there an s-class in my future. I’m sure. Will I be in my mid-60’s and ready to chill out even more than now, probably. The bickering over which is superior makes me giggle. |

Yep, the AMG models are receiving a star in the grill, the first time for an S-Class I believe.

ermmmm...i'd say pass to this S class. The previous Grand Edition is the best S of all times. I had the 2018 edition and loved it. I made the switch the 7th because of the xdrive , interior quality, running costs and yes the 'always power on'.
Would I go back to the S ? Probably in few years times but by the look of it I am still inclined to G12. Always loved 7 Series and always will. The S is a fine car perfect for CEOs to be driven to work or, in my case, it was just about the luxury. Do I miss it? Yes and no. My G11 ticks all the boxes with me. On a different note: there is no need to be rude to S owners. Both are great cars , luxurious but so different. Audi will never come close to 7 or S. |

I really like my G11 with its Ivory interior, and would have no hesitation in having another 7, or an S or an A8 - each have their pro’s & con’s, but as they are all really good cars, I would not be disappointed with any of them. 1st world problems ehh!!

Drove a new A8 a few days ago. It drove well, fast and very planted but I didn’t like the two touchscreens or the various rattles and squeaks from the dashboard area. Also it looks just like a big A6.

Sadly not available yet. There have been quite a few delays and cars are sitting at the ports waiting for MB to send them to dealers, and apparently some units were affected by the chip issue causing limited options. In Europe and Asia however the car is readily available. In the US though, I am awaiting dealer notification of the first one in their inventory and am super excited to check this car out, especially the new interior.

That interior is on another level indeed. The tail lights and rear are very understated for my tastes but overall, clean and status quo. |

Real world pictures
I always reserve judgement to see the car in person, from the get go the vertical screen is a negative for me. Here's some pics (from MB World thread) of a less than top specced version and what may be representative of the majority of cars in dealer showrooms when you actually go to see them. Good not great IMO, even a little tacky with the mb tex dash...
