Haven't seen anything on this so here is a very quick DIY. It's not as simple as the old F10's where you just pull but pretty darn close.
Tools: All you need is a flat head. Time: 3 minutes each side I thought it was going to be more complicated but it's really not so just one photo. Just put a flat head into the 3 tabs and simple pull gently from top to bottom. THATS IT LOL. To install, just install from top tabs in first to bottom and push in firmly until all tabs click in Black grills look so much better imo

I am going to give gunmetal grey a shot on mine with Plasti Dip. I will post results. I was going to order the BMW ones any way, so I will wait to see how these look. |

Each grill is 2 pieces, so you can also separate the surround from the “vanes”- i had a bird strike last year when car was around 4 months old!, and transplanted some new “vanes” into my existing surround, so could not tell. Takes about 5 mins to separate using a small flat blade and being careful not to bend any tabs! Cost me £40 off ebay rather than £180 from dealer.

I like it. Going to do something to my 2020 grill when it arrives in the Fall. It will take longer with the 2020 grill. 8-)

Its basically the same for the LCI with the exception that its one large piece for both kidneys, and there is a small trim piece that covers the camera. If you get a new grill, you can move that trim piece to the new grill, which can be tedious, as you never want to break the small clips that hold these things in place.
I have a chrome grill for the LCI. It would be cheaper to paint the chrome one than to get the shadowline version. PM me if you wanna do that. |

Yeah, I ended up doing nothing because the LCI replacement was expensive and a PITA and it is a leased car. Next time, if I do a 7 again, I would just start off with the factory M package. Who knows what the grille will be on a G70 anyhow?
