I don't care if it's EV or ICE, I can't get past the design.
It looks like something a 12 yr old would draw when he's bored.

True, it looks like the future, but like a future I would have drawn back in the 70s, when I was a child. Maybe this is why the comparison with a DeLorian? Hope they do not share the same fate. And yes, you can put any EV on steroids by just adding up more and more of those battery cells, 1000 HP, 1500 HP, actually all possible. Let‘s wait how durable and reliable these tanks will be. Ironically, the Tesla model 3 was just classified to be the worst reliable car by German TÜV as it has the worst record for failing during technical check-ups of all car models they see. Coincidence, a common German car magazine just concluded that the BMW G80 was the best car they ever tested in a long-term (100k kilometers) reliability challenge. No any fails, repairs or flaws throughout the entire time-span. So I will stick with my BMW. If I ever have to switch to an EV, it will be BMW too.

What a stupid vehicle. A 3080kg (6800lb) vehicle that accelerates like a sports car. It’s going to be bought by people that aren’t car people with near zero driving skill. What could possibly go wrong?

A 123KWh battery pack and an optional range extender battery pack (40kWh)?
These will require enough mineral mining and water to refine those minerals plus the prerequisite transportation that will make a Hummer look eco friendly. Come on guys stop the "we are saving the planet crap". Your not and most intelligent folks know it by now. There are many reasons to buy a EV but that is not one of them. You are just like those hippies blocking the highways... no one gives a shit what they are protesting about just GTFO. You go on every EV thread making a million posts about how bad they are for the environment or whatever... no one cares. You don't like it? Don't buy it. |

Maybe you have noticed we are being forced to pay for the development, use and soon we will be required to purchase EV's. Otherwise we wouldn't give a dam what anyone drives. The sheep don't know the Wolves don't want to know. |

I watched hagerty, carwow,Top gear. All of them gushing and giggling around mostly about 0-60 times. I was getting the want factor
Then saw this guy absolutely dismantling the hype and he made sense. |

However I did try skimming through to see what his counter points were. He had none. Just general anti EV hate crap, not green, running out of resources, Elon sucks etc... again nothing specific to this vehicle. The only point I heard him make which was legit is that specs are not what was promised 4 years ago. True. It's more expensive and has less range. Could have been a 1 minute video. |

I will admit it is cool that they are doing something different...
Now with that being said - If the point of this is to truly be a pickup - 1) what is its payload and towing capacity? how does this hold up in terms of range? 2) The 240 mile range one is out the window for just about everyone... so that leaves a minimum price of $80k... that gets you a brand new F250 if you really need a pickup. 3) The fast 1/4 mile - who needs this in a pickup? What use will this have? 4) Will the range be as promised? No one knows. 5) WTF is with how small that bed is? I think again another Tesla gimmick for those that want to be cool... but this misses the entire point of a truck.

1. According to Tesla 2,500lbs payload and 11,000lbs towing. That's better than most loaded F150s, at least on the payload, which is typically what matters most when towing. 2. I agree. No one is towing long range with this or any EV. Even if you wanted to deal with the hassle of supercharging on the road you would have to unhitch just to charge. 3. You don't need it in any vehicle... but I'm not gonna turn it down. 4. As with all EVs those are probably EPA estimates or whatever. Real world range is aways less. Towing I would imagine half the range. 5. Specs say 6x4. Considering the most common bed size on the F150 is 6.5 I don't think it's that small. I think the reason it's smaller is they wanted it to fit in a garage. Not sure if it does or not. |

Trying to power a car/truck with a giant battery is not the correct use of the EV drivetrain; it's stupid actually. If the entire industry wasn't massively legislated by and funded by Government, it would have never gotten off the ground. You can try to debate that all you want (we have a thread on it already) but you can't win the argument. The only reason EV exist is because CARB in 1990 declared California was not going to have gasoline cars sometime in the future; it's been a legislated forcing function ever since. Easily provable.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

After watching 2 hours of one POV (hagerty, carwow, top gear etc) I'm glad i did spend 17 minutes on this video. I found it very informative. It was specific to the vehicle too. |
