Spotted: F01 Alpina B7 - High Altitude Testing
I was up at Mt. Evans, which for those who don't know is the highest paved road in North America, and spotted this
And one gratuitous shot of my car too... |

Notice how this is a US spec car...
The orange reflectors are a dead giveaway. At the very least this means BMW NA is considering importing this car... |

The B7 is definitely a pretty imposing beast of a car. Looks amazing in person, just wish I had better pictures. Definitely US spec, I noticed that too after looking at the pics. Plus if you look at the depression for the license plate on the trunk, a euro plate would not fit in there.
And thanks for the kind words on my car, gotta admit, I love it. |

Unlike Mercedes-Benz, BMW have different customers than those buying S-class AMGs. BMW believes the M division has already created the ultimate sedan with the M5, the M7 would not change that. Alpina is generally seen as the official tuner for BMW, think of the B7 as the M7. Creating better aerodynamics and tuning the engine a bit, it's sort of what the M division does. BMW has also considered using Alpina's turbo which will be in future models. In general, BMW wants to keep the 7 series' status and an M7 would defy the whole point of BMW's flagship. |
