G70 wheel alignment question

👋 hi!
Just wondering where you take your G70s for a wheel alignment?

I don’t prefer the dealership because I can never verify if they use the type of digital wheel alignment machine that doesn’t clamp onto the rims. Got some 22s that I would like to keep scratch free!!

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure an independent shop would tackle that. My shop wouldn't.Think you're better off with the dealer and a request to be extra careful.Surely, you're not drifting that car ?!!

If the car is new with few miles, and you have a friendly dealer, you might get a warranty or goodwill alignment. Are you sure it needs it? Sometimes when a wheel gets bent out of round (you have 22's) it can feel like the alignment is off. Sound like a dealer visit should sort it out.

Be careful with those 22's. Maybe fewer potholes in Ca., but here in NY, 22's would be kind of masochistic. Even with wheel/tire insurance, bent rims/blown tires would be a recurring PITA.

BMW dealerships solely use BMW OEM alignment hardware utilizing the 5 pins that go into the holes parallel to the lug holes. So long as you have OEM wheels, nothing will be clamped onto your rim edge. You can always double check as well and make them write on the RO to use OEM alignment heads with the pins. They don’t even touch the wheel.

Thank you! I don’t have the stocks on- so chances are they will scratch my shoes! I’ll keep checking around the rim shops…

It’s not necessarily the diameter of the tire that decreases efficiency, it’s the width/contact patch.
