My New BMW I7 eDrive50 M- Sport

Special ordered my i7 back late October and finally picked it up couple weeks ago. Xpel ciramic tint and wheel spacers coming soon! I know this is going to sound weird but I traded my e92 M3 in as they gave me an offer I could not refuse.

I must say, charging in public isn’t as bad as the Tesla sitting in the reclined rear seat with the tv.

If anyone has any suggestions to stream without an eSIM, please share. I currently have Xfinity mobile which is not supported. Push comes to shove, I will move to Verizon it I have to. Thanks!

Regarding the eSim, only workaround I guess is to get an external Chromecast/Fire-TV/Xiaomi stick and connect it to your mobile 5G-hotspot and via HDMI to your screen.

Thank you for the info. I do not want hanging wires so sounds like I will be switching to Verizon.

LMAO, damn Costco run. It really is, I'm loving every mile and still have not used half the features. This has to be the most under rated car on the market. I have no idea how someone would get a Model S, EQS or Lucid over this.

Your picture looks like East Bay BMW! Nice to see another fellow owner in Pleasanton! I'm loving every mile. Zero complaints so far except I want an update that we can open the automatic doors with the key like other countries have! I was worried about charging but there is an Electrify America charger in the same parking lot as my gym and it works out perfect! No need to even charge at home!

For what it's worth, you can mount a Chromecast on the back and use a short USB-C cable for power (right next to the HDMI) and have both in the little recess area with nothing hanging.

That said, there are a lot fewer things to manage with esim than an external device over HDMI and hotspot. I used a Chromecast for a week or so and it was nice to have a physical remote but the connectivity would flake from time to time and was more temperamental than using the built-in apps so I removed it.

Really wish there was a physical remote for the theater screen. The virtual remotes on the doors and on-screen work in a pinch but aren't nearly as easy to use as a real remote.

Good eye. Yes, that was taken at the Pleasanton BMW dealership. I'm actually in San Leandro, halfway between Pleasanton and Berkeley. I initially made my deal with Berkeley but the guy messed up the order so lost the sale to Pleasanton. I've actually noticed -- at least on this forum -- that there are a good number of G70 owners here in the Greater SF Bay Area. I guess that's not surprising given the weather and Silicon Valley/tech here.

Sounds like you're all set with that charger location. Months before my i7 arrived, I had an EV outlet installed in my garage and purchased a Mustart EVSE which I use half the time because of the BMW's complimentary 3-yrs' of EA charging. Later, I discovered BMW was also providing a free BMW Wallbox so obtained that (and, uh, promptly sold it on eBay of course).

Oooh - something fun: For the FIRST time yesterday, I tried the automated parking (or outside-of-car-moving or summons-ing, whatever you want to call it). I just backed it about 5 feet out of my garage. It was SPOOKY! I'm glad you can just remove your finger from the travel button to make it stop. Still, this is one of the reasons I bought the car. I'll definitely be experimenting more!

Yes, I actually just saved a custom path today to pull out of the Electrify America parking slot with the remote. When you create a new custom path, it not only goes forward and back but turns! Now all the Mach E and VW ID4 can ask me a million more questions while drooling.
