B7 Alpina according to VIN

I have done research on my car using my VIN to include the dealership I purchased it from and DMV.org and both show my car to be a 2012 B7 Alpina. However, my car has no telltale signs of being one. The color is Carbon Black with M badges everywhere because of the M package. Why would anyone refit it with an M aero kit over the Alpina's or try to make it less than it is?...from a performance viewpoint.

Does anyone have any other way to discern this? This is strictly a concern due to performance curiosity. If it is an Alpina, there's no way I would retrofit it.

It's confused. Run a VIN decode.

Look for "Alpina Package"

What's the last 7 digits of your VIN. Perhaps the private website that you're using isn't giving you the correct information.

No one on the forum can help you other that making comments because you didn't post the last 7 digits of the VIN to use other sites...and some forum members may even have access to the BMW portal. So all we can do is throw darts at the board.

No offense but I wouldn't post my VIN. He can PM his VIN if someone can access BMW portal or the site listed above has a incredible amount of information. I was very impressed.

It might be giving info for 750xi OR Alpina B8. I say this because if you look on the bottom left at "engine info" it says OR

Not offended at all. But what is anyone going to do with the last 7 digits of a VIN except look up the build sheet specs?

Just about every car site lists the entire 17 digits of the VIN...the last 7 digits are the vehicle's serial number.

Here are the last 7 digits of the BMWs I've owned...I guess I live dangerously. The only thing you're going to get from a VIN decoding site is the build specs of the vehicle.

Heck...here's a link to one of my fav VIN decoder sites that you can use as an example of the information you'll get from inputting the VINs of the BMWs I've owned:

Thanks. That is a great VIN decoder site. Better then the previous one I had. I told me everything about my car. Stuff I didn't even know like the leather and even type of stitching for my IND Merino leather seats.

Always forfeited less info is better. Never know. So tell me why do people hide their license plates on this site 🤓

Some top reasons are probably to deter stalkers, peeping toms, and/or ne'er-do-wells.

Just like many news or entertainment shows or sites will block out the license plate of people if an image or interview is taken of them getting into their personal vehicle, street, or home address. They will usually blur the license plate or the address or street name of their vehicles & home even though it is open to the public.

I've done both...I blurred my license plates when it appeared in my signature pic because it's appears in EVERY post I make and I post on multiple forums (e38/e39/e53/e70/f15/f12/f12/f06/f01/f10) and multiple sites. But I've also posted pics in a one-off reply that had my license plate number visible. : ...go figure.
