Did a thing today, new 7 in the family
This is my second 7 series although my first new one. I bought the E38 (which I still have) because I loved the style, the athleticism, everything about it. That being said I actually still love the way the E38 drives its just smaller and lighter and more direct. That is not to say that I dont love the G12, its a techno powerhouse, fast, quiet, stable, just a little boaty, but still really nice.
I wasnt even looking for a car, we had my wife's F15 in for service, leak in the tire on the summer tires. While I was waiting I just started talking with the my SA Matt, he was awesome, races E46 M3's pretty close to professionally. He wasn't your regular SA, I felt like I was talking to someone on this board with his knowledge of every series of BMW. We went into detail on the S54 swap I am doing on an E30. Anyway, after a while I ended up test driving a 2019 750i MSport on the showroom floor loved the interior, loved the tech, and the engine is pretty sweet. It will be even better after a tune. Long story short I am now the proud owner of my second 7, which is actually coincidently my 7th BMW.

Congrats on the new 7...looks sweet. And I agree with everything you said about the e38 7 series...still a great ride...especially if maintained.
I traded my e38 in when I picked up the f06 650ix GC last year...and again, it was hard to let her go. The technology in the F & G chassis is neat...and the turbo engines have power out the wazzoo...but there's still something sweet about the old m62/m62TU/M73N engines and how they mated with the e38 chassis and 5 speed tranny and suspensions systems that is hard to put into words.

It drives so small for its size. Of course the sport model is 10 inches smaller than the G12 so it should lol!

Great car! Out of all the 7-Series the E38 is the best. The G12 is the second best. And I firmly feel the G12 is the best looking BMW's to be designed in years. I'm hoping to pick up a used Pre-LCI G12 740i next year.

Agree with you, although I did like the LCI E65, I am one of the few people who didnt mind the Bangle butt on the 7.

I didnt buy this car to mod it, its more of just a DD, but I dont know if I ever owned a car I didnt mod just a little.
I hated the 19's but didnt want to go crazy so I added some 468M 20" wheels, removed the front plate (stupid dealer drilled it but I bought color matched bumper plugs) and removed the orange reflectors and replaced with IND panted ones. That should be it, maybe some ghost links and coding and i am done.

OOOOoooh, Singapore Gray is NICE! I bought similarly spec'ed 2019 750 xdrive M Sport about 6 weeks ago and mine is Magellan Gray. After looking at the pics you posted of your (spotless) car, I can't decide which I like better. I absolutely love my car and I'm super happy I bought it before the LCI 750 came out.
My current favorite feature is the massaging driver's seat. I have mines set to 3 bars of back massage and I turn it on every time I'm driving for longer than 20 min. I feel I could drive this car all day long. |

I like them both what I like about Magellan is it can almost look like a frost color without all the pain in the butt maintenance of the frost paint.
They had the Signapore and White in stock not many choices with the 2020s coming. The white one had a black interior and I have too many black interior cars I didn't want another. Also, it didn't have the LED roof. If both Magellan and Singapore were in the showroom it would be a tough choice, but I like the Cognac interior and I think that looks better on Singapore. Love my blacked out M Sport, I do wish it actually handled a bit sportier but oh well. As for the massaging seats I had not used them, but my wife did. She drove it home the other night from the city and I put it on the whole drive home, wow I really like it! I need to use it more often.

I'm really happy with this option overall though. And especially compared to the boring massage function from my previous car (2014 Audi A8L) which gave a barely noticeable massage roll. |
