I don't know your situation, but I'd dual daily it! It might make for a fun change of pace switching things around from time to time. The character of the Alpina B7 and S class is going to be quite different and you just might like or appreciate the differences in those different vehicles.

Oh and congrats on your B7! Hoping to find out the status on mine as well. Planning on giving BMWNA a call first thing tomorrow to see what's happened to the production week, given it's been a month since start of the European War.

So I was checking my status via the BMW website.. and noticed my Merino leather I had ordered had been suddenly replaced by Nappa leather without any notice to me. After making several calls to BMWNA and the dealership to get it rectified, no one had any idea what was going on.

The sales manager ended up emailing the Alpina manager and recieved some interesting information that he passed on to me, so I will share with you all here in the hopes that it saves some of us some surprises.

Starting with all April builds, I've been told that BMW will be removing all Merino leather (including BMW Individual orders) from all lines being built in Europe. If you had Merino leather on your order, double check, since it could have been removed and replaced with Nappa leather instead. And from what it sounds like they are most likely NOT notifying customers of this stealth change whatsoever.

The story being told to me is that all Merino leather is coming out of Ukraine so Merino leather is being removed altogether from builds and replaced with whatever they can get their hands on.

I now have to make a choice as to whether I will cancel my order or will accept a lower leather quality.

Beyond disappointed, given that my order was scheduled for Week 20 2022, after having been delayed repeatedly since I ordered in July of 2021.

So yours hasnt even started yet?

Ask what has been removed from the standard options. Currently, they removed the B&O sound upgrade. Due to chip shortage, they would remove small options like wireless charging etc.

Mine still got built as ordered but waited 10 months.

Mine has not started yet and will not until Week 20, which is in the middle of May. Interestingly enough, today I see that the status changed to "Scheduled for Production". Only took nearly a year to change status :/

At least according to BMWNA and the dealer, nothing has been removed from my standard options so far; of course with the exception of the Individual Merino leather. Interestingly enough, I still have the B&W Sound Upgrade still listed and confirmed as not removed.

After thinking it over, I decided that the lack of Merino leather was a dealbreaker, I was not going to settle for the downgrade to BMW Nappa leather. Called the Sales Manager to cancel the order on the Alpina B7. Too bad we can't have Lavalina here in the US.

The Merino to Nappa isn't that big of a deal. I've felt both and they nice and supple. Nappa is even easier to care for and less likely to scuff.
But.... The B&O stereo is a absolute MUST have if I'm ordering or building a new BMW!

I ordered a 2022 750i xDrive from my local dealer a couple of weeks ago. As confirmed in prior posts, only Nappa leather is available. Not a deal killer for me, but I'm a little sad I won't be getting the Smoke White/Black Merino.

I'm surprised you could still order a '22. There has to be a EOP date for G12's sometime soon.

What do you love most about the S580? The B7 will be much more fun to drive than the S580. I am also driving an S580 now after turning in my 760. The S580 is nice in many ways but I can’t say I love it yet. I really loved the 760.

I'll update the post once I get a production date. I suspect it's May or June. I didn't think I would be able to put in a custom order this close to the G12's EOP, but I'm glad the local dealer (4 miles from my house) had one.

There is a 750i in Donington Grey that is "arriving soon" at the Morristown, NJ dealer. I'm tempted just to buy this one - it's very close to my build.

"Arriving soon" does not mean it is not already spoken for, so check on that. The dealer sites will list everything that is coming in, whether or not allocated to a customer. The G70's are supposed to be revealed tomorrow so pretty soon they will stop taking orders for G12's

Just had my order cancelled by BMW as not making any more 7 class diesels, even though some are still coming into UK unsold. Great customer service. unbelievable!!!

That's not great, the new one is hybrid or EV (i7) only as well seemingly starting with a 489hp 750e in the UK, the days of a cheap lease might well be over, they could do with slipping in a 735e with 350hp.

2022 750i - Ordered in March, finished assembly around the end of May, and has been "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" for almost 2 months now.

I am not bothered by the time this has taken thus far. The 2022 S-Class I considered ordering back in March had an estimated delivery date of October 2022 according to my local MB dealer.

I took delivery of my new 745e yesterday, when ordering a few options were not available so had to settle for HK (wanted B&O) and same for Merino & Nappa. Besides that, I got all I wanted, will post some pics asap.

Friend ordered a 5 last week and could not even take the road assist options without getting delivery unknown. At my work new lease cars from MB and Audi have 12-15 months DELAY on delivery…. Have the feeling it’s only getting worse regarding delivery times and almost no stock at the dealers either
