If we decide to ignore that inconvenient counter point though, and further apply your logic, we can also conclude that a BMW M* driver simply can't afford a real luxury sports car like a Porsche.[/QUOTE]
In my case...absolutely!! A Porsche 911 is simply higher up the food chain.

I bought an x2 m35i because it ticked the boxes I wanted: small, fast, decent utility. If it was called the x2 35i that would not have mattered one bit. Do I feel it has been breathed on by the m guys? Hell yes.
1) 80hp more than stock 2) damn near 15” brakes 3) lsd 4) downright nasty exhaust note 5) tons of boost 6) handles like a dream 7) extremely comfortable and grippy seats particular to the car I drove an x1 for 3 years prior and this car does everything better, hell even highway fuel economy. It certainly is not just a step up in trim, it’s a different animal. Call it whatever you want, I wanted a hot hatch and Bmw created this magnificent bastard and I love it. Only blind bias and stupid pride can keep you from seeing it. And yes, I have driven m4, m5, m850i, m340i, m240i cars as well. |

Not trying to bash anyone for what they drive or what they like, but we all are here because we enjoy this brand and the vehicles M or not. I've driven both sides for some time and enjoyed them both, the WBS cars have a different flavor compared to the WBA which I think are way more comfortable and still fun but I will choose an M3 over an M340i any day its personal opinion and what you like and what you're looking for, I commute long distances and could have easily chosen an M3/4/2 but did what made sense to me, stick with what you enjoy.

My oh my I guess you never graduated grade school or learned english comprehension. Im not your bro...and im not upset BMW made their decision, you are. Your opinion is not a fact no matter how loud you scream and throw your hands in the air. I dont need to read up on anything, the first post that started this thread is right there if you could read and comprehend. BMW made this decision, thats the only relevant fact. Lots of keyboards warriors when they are protected behind a screen. Im not worked up, this is comedic gold getting you wannabes all worked up cause my M performance vehicle offends you poor little ego. Yes I have an ///M35 now as anyone can see, coming from an F80 as you can read up on if it matters to you so much. And and S85 E63 as if it has any relevance to you or this discussion as my m cred I wont bring up any other brands as its none of your biz. But it always returns to ego and insecurity in yourself that causes you to believe your opinion is a fact. Im always glad to meet face to face and discuss like a man. Then we can see who says what. |

Geez, who cares?? I drove a Porsche 911, then traded it for what I considered a better drive, a Cayman. Then I needed a usable backseat (the reason to pick BMW over Porsche,) so I got a 135i, which, with the right mods, I’d still take over any current M or Porsche model.
Sometimes these threads read more like fashion enthusiast forums, rather than driving enthusiast forums. p.s. BMW started making “M performance” type cars decades ago with the M535i. |

https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/all-models.html Look how they separate the models. EXPERIENCE THE BMW M AUTOMOBILES. All true M cars are listed then at the bottom. More outstanding power. All the M performance models. Like I said, I am talking facts. It's still facts even though you may not like it or agree to it. Oh and I apologize for calling you Bro... Lol... " I am not your Bro" WTF calm down man. It's just cars.

Someone mentioned biermann early on. Hyundai created their n division and built a pretty awesome car and have already committed to watering down the name with n line components. I guess that’s just the way it is now. Somehow the alphabet is just becoming letters again.

I've had 6 Ms over the years.
I drive a fabulous M2 now. I had an F80 M3. Had an opportunity to test drive the G20 M340i, and it was a beast. Better in every way than my old F80. Steering, torque, sound, handling, etc. What does that suggest? That the next M3 will be even more spectacular. As M technology drifts down to "regular" BMWs, including M "performance" cars, that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. |

This thread is ridiculous. People should just get the car that fits their wants and needs rather than worrying about what other people have.
A M340i can still be a M car and not have the highest performance in the 3 series class. The M division can have different tiers of M cars if they decide that's the direction they want to go. If anything at least less people will stop putting fake badges on their cars, haha. |

I drive an X5M. Well. It's an X5 M Sport. But I say the "M" part loudly, and mumble the "Sport" portion very quietly.
