A/C panel problem

I've got problems witch A/C panel in 2017 G11. First crack shows after 6 months from new.

Dealer replace it with new one (i think so) and after year it's happen again.

There were no interference from outside, no hiting, no hard pushing. It happen itself. It is inside. What is the problem?

It's a defect with the touch screen. It seems all of these do it unfortunately and replacing the panel doesn't fix the problem because all you are doing is replacing defective panels one after another.

My G30 does not have 4-Zone AC hence my display is LED non-touch, no problems whatsoever.

Owners of 5er with 4-Zone AC have the same exact issues with their touch panels as you do. No fix available.

I checked mine 2016 model and it's fine no cracks that I can see, on the point of touch screens/panels instead of buttons I have to say I much prefer buttons easier and safer to use on fly so to speak.

The touch controlled cold/warm vent regulators are a classic example total pain in the arse to use, the rotary versions were much more user friendly.

Design over utility.

I would let it develop more lines on the surface of the screen and then show it to them.

Pretty defective piece of hardware if you ask me.

Same here. No issues with '17 delivered 11/16. Agree on the vent regulators, though I keep it in the middle 90% of the time. Still, my "low end" F31 is easier to adjust.

Wonder if it is an issue with temperature inside the car when parked, as i guess OP’s location in Florida is going to be scorching outside in the sun.

That sucks!

Seems an inherited problem with these panels.

How it ended? Seems like I have the same problem in my M5 F90. Just set up a visit in the dealership this friday.

My B7 just went to the dealer for the same issue. Will know more tomorrow if they are replacing. The LCD screen just developed a few vertical lines. Some were top to bottom and others were just a few mm from the top or a few mm from the bottom.

I’ve just booked my 2019 G11 for the same problem. The service desk stated if it’s not a warranty claim there is a £180 investigation charge.

I’ll keep this page to hand if they push back.

I can’t see how it’s not covered under warranty.

I guess it depends on how they classify it. I'd show them this thread and show them that there are others with similar issues and it's not isolated.

I have a 16 G12 with no issues, however, I rarely ever touch the screen, if I do, my touch is light as a feather ... haha

My local dealership replaced my AC touch panel today under warranty, a replacement part was already in the U.K. so they obtained a same day replacement.
