I don't. I don't want my rotary phone back either.

Looks very classy, it's been a few years since I drove one but they were lovely cars as I remember.

I'm pretty familiar with these, drove it a fair bit. No doubt the F01/G11 drives a lot nicer and is a nice vehicle. But looks are a different thing, and not in favour of the current generation BMW cars. Something really weird happened around 2001 exterior design-wise, and the company never recovered from that.

I NEVER thought I would ever say this but I like the hockey stick MUCH better than this current right angle! This does not flow with the lines of the car whatsoever.

Damn. I was hoping to see them replace the shifter/iDrive area with the new layout, my thought being "it couldn't be that difficult", and then assume it would trickle down to the G30 LCI later this year. Sad face.

Totally agree, the 'hockey stick' trim piece made perfect sense design-wise as it basically highlighted that crease that runs along the lower side of the bodywork then shoots up diagonally around the front door / front fender junction, introduced by the 2007 CS Concept and subsequently carried over to production models such as the F12 6 Series. Unfortunately the average buyer doesn't seem to have a very acute sense of design and probably can't see anything else than a frigging 'hockey stick' on the side, especially when it's been repeated thousands of times on this forum alone. To the point where BMW has decided it was worth to completely overhaul this design element to something definitely less flowing and coherent visually but more stately, more Range Rover / Rolls-Royce like, and likely less prone to criticism This right angle design looked better on the boxy X7 Concept.

The interior is pretty dated though and definitely pays homage to a car that was designed in the early 1990s.

Yes, the interior is just OK (actually was just OK even back then). The current G11/G12 interior compares favourably to pretty much anything on the market today. So a blend of the two would be great!
