Tweaked version of V8 in 2022 750?
Was browsing BMWUSA site and checked specs for 750. Interestingly torque in 2022 750ix is listed 590 lb-ft unlike V8 in other models. And acceleration 0-60 is 3.5 making it fastest across non M models. Is it another problem in waiting (aka 2021 550 acceleration fiasco)?
Compare two 2022 models - 750 and 850. 2022 750ix ======================================== HORSEPOWER (bhp @ rpm) - 523 @ 5500-6500 TORQUE (lb-ft @ rpm) - 590 @ 2000-5000 COMPRESSION RATIO (:1) - 10.5 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - I / II / III 5.5 / 3.52 / 2.2 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - IV / V / VI 1.72 / 1.32 / 1.0 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - VII / VIII / R 0.82 / 0.64 / 3.99 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - FINAL DRIVE RATIO 2.81 Weight - 4866 lbs 0-60 - 3.5 ========================================= 2022 850ix ======================================== HORSEPOWER (bhp @ rpm) - 523 @ 5500-6000 TORQUE (lb-ft @ rpm) - 553 @ 1800-4600 COMPRESSION RATIO (:1) - 10.5 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - I / II / III 5.5 / 3.52 / 2.2 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - IV / V / VI 1.72 / 1.32 / 1.0 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - VII / VIII / R 0.82 / 0.64 / 3.99 AUTOMATIC GEAR RATIOS - FINAL DRIVE RATIO 2.81 Weight - 4758 lbs 0-60 - 3.7 |

I don't know about all that, but having a 2+2 that is only 100lbs lighter than a flagship sedan.... I don't know who the heck is buying those 850s..... 750 all day or I'd go M4 for a coupe if its a "fun car" or another brand as a full size GT car. That thing is a behemoth to zip around even as empty nesters.

BMW.de still lists the 750ix as 750nm or 553 ft/lb as does the UK website so either the US site is incorrect or they have updated before others, the BMW NA site offers two performance metrics to 60mph depending on where you look either 3.9 or 3.5
Interesting though.
