Front Brake Pad Life; OEM

I’ve owned my 2011 750 since new, October 2010. 78,500 miles on the car.

Exactly 3 years ago I replaced my front brake pads and rotors with all OEM.

Now. I’m needing new front brake pads again; sensor tripped a couple hundred miles ago.

I feel like I haven’t had to replace pads this quickly ever before. :|

Isn’t 3 years too short for brake pad life?

Thanks.

Further question:

Left out from the above is that I just replaced my rear pads and rotors as well; sensor tripped about 1,500 miles ago.

Might driving with low rear pads (albeit pad material still present), cause the front pads to wear more quickly?

I'd think that so long as not metal on metal, [very] low rear pads are still doing their share of the work.

worth looking at G-LOC Brakes. I just traded my 2011 750i in and I had put G-LOC pads on the car twice. They can make any pad shape, any compound and specialize a bit in pads for very heavy cars (tesla and govern stuff).
If you call them ask for Danny.

Many thanks; truly appreciate the recommendation.

Recently fitted OEM all around, but will be sure to keep this info for future use!

Congrats on getting into a newer auto as well.

I notice that for some reason when I replaced my front pads this last time the computer only gave me 3200 miles before I need to change them again. Does anyone have any idea why?
