Chrome trunk trim removal

Has anyone removed and replaced the chrome trunk and rear light trims rather than vinyl wrapping. Found the OEM parts for$150. Seems like a no brainer.

All I did was follow #4 in the instructions. Didn’t need to use a special tool and was just careful in pulling off the side pieces.
