The German one is up an running, too.
If the i7 will have the same US/German price-relation like the iX, we are looking at $140K for a fully loaded one.

Is there any actual confirmed info about lower priced drive train/battery options?
If we compare the i7 xdrive60 to the iX xdrive50 just to make room for the i7 m70 to take the place of the iX M60, there should be room for something like an i7 40 version with one motor 80kwh battery and a starting price around 70-80k right? That ICE 740 starts at 80k. I have an i4m50 somewhere between Bremerhaven and my dealer right now. I don't really like SUVs but i would love the rear seat space of the iX or i7, i could swap it for an iX 40 but i have been waiting for the i7 to see if its within my budget. Had there been a lower spec version that i would be able to spend 10-20k worth of options on i would order right away. Guess i will have to wait for it and have some fun with the i4m50 before downgrading to a lower power big boat.. I would cheap out on rims/paint/assistant systems and get the 10k interior package with merino leather and executive back seats, the TV option and the ambient moonroof. If the starting price would be in the same ballpark as the iX that would be something i could afford. The i7 configurator is very laggy and bugs out alot on bmw.no some of the text is missing and some is still in german. Yesterday i thought it was because i was on my phone, but trying it on a computer browser now its even worse. Even rotating the car in the 3D view is horrible. |

Likely due to the wheel/tire combination that comes with it. We see the same with the i4.

Wanna bet it sells like crazy? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean lots of people wont buy it and enjoy their purchase.

Everybody that understands style and evolution, that moves forward with trend and not staying stagnant in life will buy this, not for people that only criticize good thing and can't make shit I presume will buy this i7/7series, 7series has always been masculine so it's not pretty with a lipstick it's bold and solid. |

A loaded i7 is around 200k here.
I could buy an i4 and an M3 for that money :

It took me a few days, but the new front of the 7 series is way too fat and bloated that it looks like a SAV at quick glance. The front needs to go on a diet and slim down.

I mean for people who like having that one car the 7-series is perfect. The new BMW design is not accepted by everyone because it is different to the everyday bmw we see.
But for me as said above, 200k can be spent better for me, including a daily driver and an M model |

Anyone who thinks the new I7 is about style and evolution is lost. Nothing could be more of a step backward. And that's coming from someone who thinks the G15 M8 is the best looking BMW EVER. I even like most of the new X7, except the crappy dash of course. Go ahead continue to attack anyone who doesn't agree with you Mr. Kim Jong-il. You better silence these posters before they say something else you don't like. |

Mr this is not an attack, what design would BMW have done to please anyone? If the make it sleek like the future 100 people will cry and say it's looks Toyota or Honda, take a look at Rolls Royce you will say it's ugly right? Hmmmm beauty comes from within in different ways. Some people have not seen this car in person, just like the new M4/M3 but they cry. To me this is a great and bold looking car and it not for the faint minded. Hate it or love it BMW don't give a bananas. The preorder list as at yesterday alone is overwhelming. |

Yes I know the pre-order is still available in most countries and that's why the US configuration on web is not yet available, an overwhelming number of people have and still pre-ordering. It's time to embrace our own, not a perfect car, not pretty, but it's bold and solid. |

7 series seems to be a very good value for what it is.
