The Hellcat is nice, but I like the P365 better. It's a win either way.

Not this weekend, but last Wednesday, I got to hit the long range. Took the .308 out to 1,100 yards and my 5.56 SPR to 840 yards.

Agreed - I hate to buy into hype - but the P365SAS is the best EDC gun I have ever owned. I think it will finally be that gun that I wear the finish off I carry it so much. I paired it with a Vesacarry ZeroBulk and a Kore belt and I wear it every single day. Even in the car on long trip - it stays right there. I have not carried another gun in street clothes since I found this combo.

They nailed it.

I've heard mixed things about the SAS, but I really want to try one. Maybe not mixed, polarizing is probably a better term.

I have zero complains. You know firearms people - they will nit pick anything. "Yeah but if a Martian invades with a 40 watt plasma rifle, the nickel cadmium coating will stand up to one more shot than a standard glock........."

I am also old and getting blind - the sights on the SAS I can see with or without my glasses - day or night. Great setup.

Hit the NRA in Houston in a few weeks and see one in person........

DITTO on the Kore belt... I don't know that I can ever go back to a "standard" type belt ever again ?!?

I have a few KORE belts and you're right, there's no going back.

I have bought 4 Kore belts for my friends that laughed at me for going on about "a belt" - even when not carrying. I told them to wear it a month and if they don't like it - I'll take it back as a back up. I didn't get any of them back and 2 of them have already bought more of them.

I really wish I would have tried them earlier. ALWAYS the perfect fit - no in-betweens.

Fixed now and will start over next range trip. Hopefully, will get to break in my Century Arms AP5-P on that trip too

From the photos the fire controls have either safe or semi. Note the difference in a fire control switch for select fire.

I am going to off topic this thread for a brief moment because I am genuinely curious how us gun owners are felling about expanded background checks, and raising the minimum age to purchase a fire arm? It's sad that it takes horrific events for us to consider these changes, but I for one really can't stand thinking about little kids being gunned down. Literally gives me chills.

As some background, I am a new Texan, firearms owner, including AR-15s, and am in support of expanded background checks and a higher minimum age to purchase a firearm.

According to NBC I am not alone, in fact the majority, but am never really sure if I can trust those polls.

What are your opinions?

PS - My favorite gun to shoot is my 6.5 Ruger Precision Rifle

I ended up spending almost 3 years in the US Army after being drafted in 1967. I was qualified on the M-14, M-16 and M-60.

I spent 12 months in the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, out near the Cambodian border. I have witnessed up close and personal what assault weapons can do to the human body. Once you see it, you can't forget it.

When I returned home I sold my .22 rifles and pistol, only keeping the Marlin .22 bolt-action tube feed rifle my dad gave me. I eventually gave it to my son. I lost all taste for firearms.

As to assault rifles, I don't see the need. There are plenty of non-assault firearms on the market that are suitable for game hunting and target practice.

It's just an opinion. And if enough of you have it, I suppose there will be an "amendment" to the "Second Amendment".

So what's your stance on expanded background checks and a higher minimum age?
