This was the concept, so don't let anyone talk you out of this is some intentional grand masterpiece of BMW. Someone in corporate altered the concept and made it look like the hideous beast it is today.

The front lights remind me of the ridiculous Citroen Cactus. It also makes sense since Dukec previously worked for Citroen.

Perhaps we are looking at the 2027 LCI?

I used to be a big fan of the Citroen of old:
DS, Pallas, C6. Today's Citroen is just a mediocre extension of PSA/Stellantis group.

Since BMW is owned and controlled by the powerful but ultra secretive Quandt family, I am sure nothing there sees the light of day without their final signoff?

The funky, progressive looking Citroen limousines are still being produced - they are now being sold under the DS luxury sub-marque.

True, I forgot about the DS sub brand.

The concept also looks ugly to me. The front is just too tall and awkward looking.

What bothers me is that hood shut line.

Had they extended the hood all the way to the front edge of the car, it would have improved the overall looks.

I understand why they went with the tall/monolithic stance to resemble a Rolls Royce. But the execution, at least in photos, looks awkward and disproportionate.

That definitely would have helped, but to me I just can't get with the grills on any of these cars. I think wider grills look better than taller ones. That and the front of the car is rather overstyled (especially M-Sport variants with all the creases and black plastic) compared to the rather simple side and rear. I prefer a more elegant look which I think the side and rear capture.

I agree. It is awkward. Perfect it ain't. But it won't stop me from getting one.

Are you going for the 2-Tone paintwork?

No two tone. But the Tanzanite looks great. I have Azurite now, but they seem to have dropped it. My lease is up end of October and I will buy my G12 and then trade it on a G70 at some point thereafter. Hopefully the price craziness will have abated by then.

So it is safe to say that the Carbon Core structural components are no more in the G70?

Which version of the G12 you have at the moment?

Week or so of chewing on it and the shock has worn off, looks pretty damn good I think. Really has presence. But for the love of god, between TB2 and all that gloss black this is Scratch City, USA. Only for the careful and brave

Definitely not a car to parallel park in NYC.

Should add that the concept photo doesn't show the second headlight below the DRLs which is why it looks better than the final product. The generation is a lot more aggressive than the previous generation but the overall design and aesthetic isn't terrible. The split headlight design really ruins everything about the front end.

Someone did a photoshop with the iX headlights and it was a huge improvement and the end result had a Rolls Royce vibe to it.
