My FF is about to hit 41k. Must be junk now!
Bought my 458 with High miles also. Under 20K

One of my friends is obsessed with Astons...I've never had any such attraction. They just seem like old guy cruisers to me lol. In my region it's always that demographic driving 'em.
I test drove the new Vantage with all the sport options and its nice overall.
The best thing about it is the engine/exhaust sound. Although its AMG V8, Aston tuned the sound and it really sounds glorious.
The inputs are not as direct as a 911, its nose heavy, you sit way higher, it has regular Auto trans vs PDK.

I would definitely pick 911.

I owned a 2007 C4S that I can't say enough good things about. 6-speed manual. Oddly, I don't have any good photos of it.

I traded a 1999 BMW 540 6-speed on that Porsche. I loved both those cars.

I sold an E90 M3 modded OEM+ that was well sorted for a 997.2 c4S 6 mt that had only 60K miles on it. I immediately regretted it and sold the 911 within 3 months, and now I am back in an E9x.

Unless it is a gt3 they are underwhelming. The 911 felt slow, and sounded uninspiring. The 911 had an xpipe as well it wasn't stock.

Gt3 or bust, otherwise I feel the E9x is a better car. Small exception, the 992 Carrera S is a beast, but the line is that far away from a 991.1 Carrera S or 997 S, for me it needs to be way up the 911 chain to have a better car.

I also was fascinated, and still really love 911's but I didnt realize how good the E9x is in the grand scheme compared to 911's. I always wanted one but once I met my hero it changed my perspective.

I will say though that my M3's have Ohlins/tune/exhaust and several supporting mods so frankly I shouldn't have been surprised. My M3's are way faster and visceral than a stock 997.2 S or similar 911.

So just as I suspected. It's more a car about the noise and straight line experience (and pretending you're James Bond) than something that wants to dance through corners.

I know a guy that told me GT3 or bust too, but; since it won't be on the track often enough to really justify that hardcore-ness it's an expensive pill to swallow. GT3 touring would be awesome, but I'll likely never afford one. 911 in an ideal situation would be my extra car for weekend adventures and perhaps the occasional (putt around) track day.

E9X is the most special car i've owned(on my second one now because the M2C didn't do it for me). Hydraulic steering, 8400rpm V8, DCT that's absolutely savage, great dynamics on twisties and on track, needs very little to be what I would consider "perfect". I plan to add a few more things to round out my lemans blue E90, and drive it for years and years.

BMW nailed the E9x, and lesson learned for me, I know now where it stands.

I think the answer is most 911's are overrated, but if you get one of their special models (turbo S/gt3/gt4/gt2 etc) then no, these models are definitely not overrated. You just need 150K+ to get there these days.

LOL - please go test drive a BASE 992 or a base 991.2
The previous NA cars were much slower especially in base versions.

They might be “overpriced” for what you value in a car but they are definitely not overrated as a sports car especially compared to other cars in its class.

I liked the e90s I drove over my f80. Felt more balanced and fun to me, but never drove the DCT

I test drove a Carrera T during my search and I wasn't all that impressed for $110K+. My tune/cat delete N/A V8 S65 is pretty much just as fast in a straight line, and sounds way way better and gave me better feels.

I would say for what I was expecting it didn't live up to the expectations that I had.

These are opinions here and I not saying it was bad, but overrated, definitely yes. I would miss my M3 if the 991.2 or T was a direct replacement and not an addition.

I also owned a FBO F80 2015 M3, AW/FR, and owned it for much longer than the 911 (2 years) but felt the E90 was better than that car too and went "backwards" to the E9x so maybe we have different tastes ; ).

I literally had it down to 997 or Exx M3. If I tire of 3 cars that's where i will go. Just felt I needed to get this outta the way, never pine so to speak. I definitely wanted a cab though so one of the issues was the heavy, brutally heavy, hard top.

Damn gorgeous!! Much better looking than any Porsche or Corvette (this coming from someone with a low-ish number on the C8 Z06 list). How much does this beauty weigh? Price? Any long wait? I might have to seriously consider it just on looks alone.

It’s a great question. I felt it’s just too expensive to be a daily and not exotic enough to be an exotic. So, really, a fantastic vehicle but the 992 C2s/C4s offer 80-90% of the Turbo S fun for a much smaller price.

I had a 997.2 C4S that wasn't insanely fast (4.0-ish 0-60) but was a lot of fun and the car is the perfect size.

GT4 or Boxster Spyder, 718 4.0. The 981 GTS is a lot of fun but not all that fast, 4.3-ish 0-60

F430 is a little over your budget but should also hold its value really well

Aston Vantage V12S

$100k doesn't get you anywhere near a 991 GTS.

$100k right now doesn't get you much as crazy as it is.

That’s why I proposed the GT500. For 100k you can get one with less than 10k miles.

Sure it does. I almost bought a 991.1 GTS cab with 30k miles for $98k recently. There’s also another cab with 20k for sale at $110k that’s been sitting for 2 months. Deals are out there just need to keep an eye out.

No, it doesn't. I just did a quick search on Autotrader and the lowest one was $113k and the second lowest was $124k.

Two months it's been sitting? That's nothing. I was looking at a M8 Comp with 3k miles last month and the dealer has had it for 9 months and won't budge at all on price. Two months of sitting isn't going to phase many people on price right now.

You must not have looked very hard. Here’s one for $100k that’s been for sale 41 days -
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/326515708

This one has dropped in price from 118 to 108 and still sitting - https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/319728366

Who is going to pay $100k for a car with 50k miles....be serious.

As I said, $100k isn't going to get you anywhere near a GTS that anyone would want to drive.
