Idrive software and maps update.

Here's the situation. 3G antenas dont work in my region so i cannot download anything on my BMW. When i check for a new version on the BMW Website it says that i have the latest version but thats not it as i have seen other BMWs G11 with newer firmware. I cannot even register my car on my BMW app as i cannot receive the code since my car hotspot doesnt work in my region, therefore i cannot check for the updates on my BMW app. Any solution on how to download the latest idrive software and maps without going to my car dealer?

For my map updates, I go the BMW U.K. site and sign in. That gives me a chance to download and install the BMW download manager. I then sign into that using my BMW ID.

The map updates are locked to the VIN of the specific car. The download software will verify the download and write to a USB stick. 2022 maps are about 35GB.

Have you purchased the relevant connected drive subscriptions to enable the map updates etc? In the UK, they are only included for the first 3 years, then you have to pay for them, along with other services on an annual basis. When I renewed mine last year it was £239 for 12 months of the Connected Package Excellence. I can’t currently see any of the other packages, as this one is still active.

If you have the map updates active, may be worth a call to your local BMW Customer Services, as it must be a common issue in your location.
