Dealer Brake Fluid Flush Cost :|

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well.

Dealer quoted $270 for a brake fluid flush.

Anyone know of any dealers that participate with BMW Value Service that offer better pricing for a brake fluid flush? Or any service special coupons on point I can provide to the dealer so they match same?

I feel like the cost should be more like $150!

Many thanks.

Best to all.

Given the time it takes to bring a car into a lift bay, remove the tires, bled the whole system *correctly and reverse the setup process *correctly, then a *proper road test, I'd say it's not unreasonable to pay $240 with BMW shop rates.

Independent shops can likely beat the labor price, and the job itself is not complicated.

In the U.K. they charge equivalent to just over $100. They might not even remove the wheels these days.

That is going rate at dealer, I paid around $240 last year to have it done. And they do the flush to their OEM standards (i.e. road test, etc).

Well regarded Independent shop when the car was in getting the Noelle tune:

Seems like the $150 thought isn't too far off base for a professional to do it.

How do you like the tune? Get it done in Seattle? That's the nearest shop to me.

It'd been great! Definetely changes the cars personality.

Yeah, Strictly BMW in Bellevue is the closest place for Noelle for me also. Seemed like good people in there overall. I was on Noelle's site a couple days ago, and it looks like the cost went down very significantly as well. Do it!

One of my coworkers was asking me about this, but I couldn't answer because I never pay for maintenance, I do it myself. He got quotes of around $130 from a couple of independents, a little cheaper than the dealer. I believe their hourly rate is $180, and as mentioned above, an hour of time is about right for this job.

Of course, I live in lovely bucolic NC, and I would expect that our rates are a bit lower than NYC.
