You get a lot as standard so finding a good spec shouldn’t be too difficult, but ideally it would have Head up Display, Adaptive LEDs and HK Speakers. Anything else is a nice to have in my opinion, some may say adaptive cruise, but I’m not a big fan. It’s great in stop/start traffic, but I prefer normal cruise elsewhere.

The best option on mine is Executive Drive Pro, as it makes such a big difference to the way it drives, it’s a very rare (£2,500) option, but if you find one with it then get it bought quickly! The second best option is the B&W speakers, but they’re rare as well and the HK speakers are pretty good, they’re fine as long as you’re not used to a high end system in your current car.

I had an LCI 740LD loan car for a week last year so it gave me a good opportunity to compare a few options.

Is Executive drive pro really a rare option? Here in Europe almost every G11/G12 have it.

Agreed. I think the massage/vented seats were part of the Executive Package, that includes power sun shades, ceramic controls, and a few others. Also, depending on climate, the cold weather Package is a must.

This is true but I have seen them with the executive seats with massage/vent in the rear only strangest thing to me I remember when I was looking for mine I saw one it had tablet in back executive massage/vent seats even had rear seat entertainment and no sunshades and the front only had heated seats thought to my self this must be for a cab !!! Where I am the high end livery cars are g12's and S550's smh 🤦mine the only 2 options I don't have is the ceramic controls had them on my F/02 they suck in my opinion because I can't stand finger prints lol 😂 oh and I have executive seats instead of executive lounge seats didn't make sense to me to loose a seat for a extended center console when u have lil monsters aka kids lol

This is the spec of mine. I disagree about laserlights. I think they are fantastic but i live in the countryside so have a lot of dark roads.

2TB - Sport Auto Transmission
407 - Sky Lounge Panoramic Sunroof
453 - Seat Ventilation
5AZ - BMW Laserlights
6CP - Apple CarPlay
6U9 - BMW Touch Command
688 - Harman Kardon Speakers
420 - Sun Protection Glass
NACY - Canberra Beige Nappa seats
610 - Head Up Display
7S5 - Pure Excellence interior
3E1 - Pure Excellence interior
27Z - 20" High Gloss polished wheels
4NM - Ambient Air
ZAP - Advance Parking Package
4TZ - Massage Function
4HZ - Heat Comfort Pack

Also has a display key for the remote parking.

My must haves (which I would not take a car without) when searching for the car were:

Head up Display
Harman Kardon
Adaptive LED
xDrive
Sport Auto Transmission

Nice to haves but I’d take a car without were:

Laserlights
Apple Car Play
Display Key
Proper Nappa leather
Rear Seat Entertainment
Panoramic Roof
Lumbar Support

As you can see I got everything i wanted including all my nice to haves apart from rear seat entertainment. The kids have iPads though so it’s no issue.

You just need to decide what is important to you. If you live in the countryside or do a lot of night driving like i do. Then Laserlights are awesome. So if you can find one with them within budget then don’t turn it down.

Laser lights are great if you live in Europe, but in the US BMW was forced to "detune" to meet archaic highway safety regulations. So for that reason I'd say they aren't really worth it as there is little difference between them and the standard LEDs.

Also, I'm fairly certain that the H&K stereo is standard on the 7-Series now.

It is in the UK. Out of just over 350 cars for sale on Autotrader, 20 have it fitted and 9 of those are the M760, so only 11 cars have it as an option.

Thank you for the wide explanation.
In the weekend I'm having a test drive than soon I'll give my review👍

Ah didn't know the laserlights were lower spec over the pond

H&K might be standard now. But it was an option on MY2018 (which is what mine is) and quite rare on cars I was looking at. Most had the BMW Speakers.

The standard BMW speakers aren’t great.

It’s the adaptive / blanking functionality that’s not allowed in the USA, so even the previous generation adaptive LEDs have that switched off.

I don’t know whether laser high beam is allowed?

Laser have been allowed for a couple years already, with the first car being the i8. However, US regulations forced BMW to reduce the power of the headlights to about 60% of what they are in Europe.

For me, external options are very important to give to distinguish themselves from basic models:
Lazer-emergency brake-kit M-tinted glass-camera-sunroof brake M stirrup.
Interior : leather-paddles on the steering wheel-automatic-sport steering wheel-heated-massaging seat- (have the rear foot poses but is it only the long version?)

Garage List
The option I would put at the very top of the list is integrated active steering. The 4 wheel steering dramatically improves the manouverability of the 7 series and is something you will appreciate every single day. IAS is not something dealers order frequently so it takes looking hard (it is part of the autobahn package) or ordering.

I found a nice one with:
M-sport package
Active steering
Comfort seats in nappa leather, heated en ventilation front and rear seats
Sun protection glass
Laser light
Singapore grey with shadow line black gloss
21" M wheels
HK stereo
And some more.
In the weekend a test drive✌🏼
