Luxury Meets Legend: 2020 BMW 750Li vs 2001 BMW 7-Series

This is 2020 BMW 750Li, and it meets its grandfather, the E38 2001 740i, which costs far less and is rear wheel drive. Both are V8s, and both are BMW flagships of their time. But can the old one stack up, and is the new one worth the massive premium? James and Thomas jump behind the wheel of both to experience them and discuss them inside and out.

Aside from the amazing advancements in technology which are in the 2020 7 Series, I do think the 2001 is a much better looking car!

Horizontal orientation of the G11 headlights always seemed to be a throwback to the E38 era, with nod to the E32 at the rear. Wonder what the G70 looks like?

It's hard to imagine that the E38 design existed exactly 30 years ago!
