I had the good fortune to see Neil Armstrong in person during Bob Hope's 1969 USO Christmas show at the Cu Chi base camp. It seemed amazing to me that only ~5 months earlier, he was standing on the moon. I clearly recall gazing at the moon when we got notice of the successful landing.

I also remember the gorgeous girls in Hope's show including Miss World, Eva Rueber-Staier, and singer/actress Connie Stephens.

I remember seeing the movie Polyester back in the early 80s. It introduced smells via a scratch and sniff card. There were numbers on the card and when a number was shown on the screen you would scratch the corresponding number on the card and get a smell. It worked but I thought it was a novelty and did not really add anything to the movie experience.

Funny you mentioned this because my brain was having a moment when I watched Cape Fear (w Robert DeNiro) in the theatre. During his prison workout scene, I distinctly smelled some bad BO and after the film I asked my buddy if he smelled it too and if it was a feature of the movie theatre because I only smelled it during that scene and nothing before/after it. I was convinced for those split seconds it was a special feature of the theatre before my friend snapped me out of it smh...the logical explanation was probably somebody let out a silent fart that smelled like BO haha.
