Wrt flooring, just clean it and seal it. There are some reasonable priced types that you can DIY.

I've been slowly working on my garage (nothing fancy) since moving in and was going to work lighting next. Due to the joist direction and already having a finished garage, I was going to just go w/ LED strip lights and run the conduit outside the drywall (but paint it to match the ceiling). An easy option if you don't want to deal w/ running conduit (or romex...or BX) and patching up the ceiling.

Would you have to do something to "prep" the urethane before trying to get anything else to "stick"?

I've been looking at the floor where I keep my motorcycle in a shed. The material (seems to be almost particle-board like) is starting to bow under the rear tire, and my bike has "marked it's territory" a bit. Since there is a dividing central wall, not sure how to do the entire floor surface on both sides. Wife would be jealous if I didn't improve the floor on her she-shed

Ceramic would be deadly slick with just a bit of oil spilled, no? When we have those Crisco parties in the kitchen, everyone falls down all the time.

still not finished, I went epoxy, did it myself

has the cabinets I assembled and fitted (mastercraft range), tool stuff, foam inserts,

my 2c's though this is more to do with epoxy.

"You pay's your money" is a very good adage, do not skimp out out quality product, I got my epoxy from manufacturer and have NOT looked back.

big box stores "can sometimes be iffy" especially on storage and "old" product lines

also follow to the LETTER the manufacturer specs on

1> cleaning and prep
2> tools
3> temperature, moisture

I spent a shed load, but I know it's done right

My workbench came with this already.

I didnt like the look of a peg board on my garage, I like the look of cabinets,
although I would go for wall mounted kaizen foam that looks the mutts nutts

I've debated epoxy for quite some time. I like the look of cement as well so it's a toss up for me. Plus, I plan to put in a deck w/ underneath storage next year so...watching my pennies at the moment.

Can't find the home reno thread so posting what I've been up to here (sorry if this is thread jacking). Still a work in progress and I need to organize more, but finally go the one wall painted and tire storage up. I'm going to paint a horizontal stripe on all the walls about the same level as the wall outlet. I also might put up some more wall track under the tire storage but TBD for now.

I wanted the garage to be an extension of the home's living space...I went with Racedeck flooring as I wanted something simple I could do myself. Too many steps for epoxy that I didn't feel comfortable with.

Stripes are vinyl except for the white that was paint. Used a laser leveler to get them perfectly straight. Signs are mostly reproductions bought on ebay.

Nice job, my friends bust my chops about my lack of a garage. I've always been a car guy but haven't had a garage for about 10 years now. My 993 is in the car port with a very good cover on it but it's not the same. Oh well.

I'm in the market as well. So many options, I'm kind of swirling. I don't want to mix and match by doing it over time, which makes it that much harder to pick a set.
