Alignment options

Does everyone on the forum take their 7series to the dealership for alignment or do they seek services elsewhere. All I've been hearing is that the cameras/lane departures system needs to be calibrated as well. That's why the dealer is recommended since local shop's don't have the 55k machine to align this car.

I would highly recommend the BMW service center, especially if you have four wheel steering on your 7-series. As far as the cameras that has nothing to do with the alignment. In the past I would take my other BMWs to regular alignment shop which was cheaper however I would end up having to go back to the dealership to have it performed correctly.

Where are you in FL? Definitely not completely true. There are a lot of shops with the same alignment machine.

Exactly - it is not a spaceship so only NASA can service it ...

There are many workshops that are very honest and can do this basic job very conscientiously.

In the UK most use a 4 wheel Hunter machine, which both dealers and tyre shops have. Only thing to consider, and I got caught out with this on my first XJ, is that some cars need the suspension loading before alignment - tyre shop didn’t do it with the Jag, and it ruined the ride, so ended up back at Jag dealer anyway - was a very expensive exercise overall!

Lucky who do you use in Dublin to do yours? I find many are hit and miss. I usually bring mine to a tyre shop in Cork if I’m down that way. Thanks.

If I looking for replace tyres I use only this place, they were doing me a refreshment, even the balancing weights were used in the color of the rims ... (take care of the rims and do not damage them during replacement, you can bring your own new tires and replace them too)
