I bought a Camry Hybrid!!

Since I travel to New Delhi frequently for work, my company here needed a replacement for its aging Skoda Superb, and this Camry was the replacement.

Although I was happy with the Skoda, it did not age very well. Also the local dealer was horrendous, so had to make the switch to Toyota for the simple reason of avoiding any dealer visits whatsoever. I was also lucky to get the car because the damn chip shortage has the build and delivery dates out 4-5 months!!

There is also a significant price increase expected in January so I saved a few thousand by getting this 2021 model. Speaking of price, I paid an eye popping $65K for this car. It is the top of the line model with some unexpected luxury features. These cars tend to be mostly chauffeur driven in Delhi, so the priority is on rear seat comfort, where this car is surprisingly good with reclining rear seats, rear and side window shades, Infotainment remote in armrest and full leather.

This purchase also makes me realize how lucky we are in the USA to drive what we do at the prices that we do. My 7 is just about better in every way than this car, except for fuel efficiency and possibly reliability. Even so, I highly recommend this car against its competitors, its just far better than what I remember a Camry used to be! Really quite impressive.

Have to say though, can't wait to get back behind the wheel of the G12 when I get back

Respect your opinion and congratulations on your purchase but I would never have exchanged it for any BMW, especially for series 7 - Never, really never ...

Garage List
This is the first post I have ever seen of someone excited to have gotten a Toyota Camry. Enjoy it as your Delhi car.

Haha, Yes I'm quite excited especially since I don't have to wait 4 months for a replacement. Will be enjoying the car from its rear seat.

Certainly helps with gas being $5.35 per gallon

Will be heading back home in a week or so till then I can enjoy the major highways in India which would wreck havoc on a typical sport tuned suspension of a similarly priced 3 Series.

Just not a fun place to drive.

It's the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) trim level with the V6. You lose some comfort features and gain suspension / handling features and upgraded brake system. Also has more aggressive styling. I originally just went in for an XLE but when I saw this I decided I wanted it.
