rear sunshade won't retract automatically when put in reverse

I recently purchased a used 2021 alpina b7.
Initially the rear sunshade would retract whenever I put the car in reverse.

After a couple of days (and some monkeying with various settings!), it does not retract the rear sunshade when putting in reverse.

I went through the settings multiple times but did not find any setting.

I also did the reset on the idrive system (hold pwr button down for appox. 90 seconds) but that didn't seem to help.

I was testing some of the rear seat functions so maybe that has something to do with it.

Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.
