Launch Control Limit?
Hey Guys, I accidentally activated Launch Control in my G12 740Li, And I’m wondering is there a Launch Control Limiter like the M Cars? Thanks.

Yes, LC mode makes your transmission wear. Thats the reason, there is an undocumented limit of 50 launches built in to the ZF transmissions. After 50 launches the trans will silently never engage that mode again.
(This is the result of my research and several conversations with serious people) |

I went ahead and asked a BMW M Employee and he said there’s no limiter.

What I’ve found out is the F Series BMW’s did have a Limiter on it and it was set to 50 Launches. But the G Series cars got a Changes on the Transmission, The F Series cars had a Multi Plate Lockup Clutch Pack, After this they changed the Design in G Series Cars. So I guess we can do unlimited Launches.

I doubt there's any limiter on the ZF 8HP transmission now in the G series. My M760i has the 8HP95 transmission which is the same as the Hellcat redeye and other big horsepower vehicles. Never heard of them having any LC limits or lack of LC due to the transmission...
That said, if you use LC often, consider servicing the differential fluids at 25-30k intervals, as well as the transmission and transfer case before 50k. My previous Full M cars required differential services at those intervals as well. |

Haha Yes! But if you guys have a RWD version of the 7 Series it will do a burnout, Just make sure to put the car in Manual Mode for the transmission not S mode so it will not automatically upshift to 2nd gear.
