M Sport Rotors/Calipers

My rear calipers are part # 44/24/ 345-370. Does this mean I can use a 345 or a 370mm rotor for the rears?

My fronts use 374mm rotors w/ caliper part # 4x40-44/374/36.

Also, I don't have the S2NHA (autobahn option) from the vin decoder, but I have the autobahn calipers with the BMW logo on the front and rear.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. When I go to any of the sites like real oem or the bmw parts catalog using my vin it gives me the part# for 345mm rear rotors and 370mm, so that is why I was wondering.

374mm front, 370mm rear. Got it.

So part# 34216860927 is the oem 370mm rear rotor. On many bmw sites, it says it's discontinued and they offer no replacement part # except the 345mm rotor.

When I go to Brembo, they have the interchange part # Brembo Brake Rotor - 09.D901.13 but it says it will not work with my car and keeps suggesting 345mm as do many other sites like FCP, partsgeek, etc.

Interchange Part Number:
34216860927
Replaces OE Number:
34216860927

I also confirmed which calipers I have because I took pics of them when replacing my tires yesterday.

Now I get new info on this site, which gives the replacement part # and says it fits. When I put the new 370mm part# in on bmw's site, it tells me this part does not fit my car?

Update: When I change the model year from 2016 to 2017 on the brembo website, it now says part # Brembo Brake Rotor - 09.D901.13 fits. It also notates that it fits "with painted caliper". The calipers are the exact same (part # 4x40-44/374/36), outside of the blue paint.

Is there any other rotor/caliper difference between the 16 and 17+?

All 50i, 50d models come with 374x36 front and 370x24 at the back. 348x36 front 345x24 rear come with other models if S2NH (M sport brakes) are not specified. There is also almost 400mm M Performance brakes that can be retrofitted and come as standard on M760.

Thank you for the information. I am actually looking at the 395mm front calipers and rotors now as I may go ahead and do the retrofit.

That would entail new discs, pads, calipers, heat shields, possibly sensors and EMF electronics. Oh and minimum of 19" wheels. You need to do both axles and code it accordingly or brake force distribution will act up.

So for the rear, I just called BMW to confirm and they said 345mm.

I went outside and did a rough measurement of the rotor and it's about 13.5" which is is about 345mm.

So the front is 374mm and the rear is 345mm.

There's bolt-on OEM M performance brake kit that comes with all the parts you need front and rear, if you're inclined to spend that much to upgrade. Part number: 34-11-2-289-348. Costs a little over 3k.

Edit: instructions says to code it: "Encode the retrofit with the Software Service Station (SSS) via the – Retrofit/Sport Brake – path" I personally don't know what difference it would make if it's not coded in.

So in my additonal research I see that my current rear calipers are the same ones included in the M performance kit. Identical part#'s.

That also answered another question I had. Since the rear calipers with part # 44/24/ 345-370, that must mean it supports rotors that are 345mm and 370mm. The kit has my current rear calipers.

Now, it seems that all I need is the front set up with the 395mm calipers, dust shields, etc. and the rear 370mm calipers, dust shields.

The front pads for the G12 M760i, Alpina B7, 750i Xdrive are the same.

Also confirmed the wear sensor is the same.

Just know that the rear Alpina B7 pads are different depending on year, learned this the hard way. ha. i put my rotors on my car for 500 bucks total for all 4 with lifetime warranties. You wont get that with BMW..

Just buy the calipers used, get Brake Performance rotors, EBC pads and get someone to either rebuild and powdercoat the calipers any color you want, or leave them OEM, I bet you cold do this entire conversion for 1500 or less if you needed the calipers. My B7 already had them but I hate blank looking rotors on all cars or trucks ha

I agree and that's what I've been looking in to. There are several of the 395mm calipers on ebay and a set on here as well. I currently have EBC redstuff pads for the rear.

Yours looks good. Thanks for the pic.

So, I have all of the parts on the way for the 395mm swap to arrive this week, except the dust shields. Apparently every BMW location in the US does not carry these. According to the dealer, they are only available in Germany, with a lead time of about 4 weeks to arrive at the dealer and then be shipped to me.

Does anyone have a source for these?

34-11-6-861-799
34-11-6-861-800

I've seen people bend the 374mm dust shields back slightly and not replace them with the 395mm rotors. Is there any harm in not getting new dust shields appropriately sized for the bigger rotors?

I would get the right shields. Besides keeping radiant heat, coming from rotors, away from suspension parts, it also keeps road elements away from braking system.

So it looks like ECS has them, also with a different part#. When I look it up on BMW's site, they show they are for a 2017 M760i but they also show they fit a 2016 750i xDrive when I change the car?

When I look the #'s up on eBay, they are selling the shields with these part #'s attached to the hub for 17-22 5 series.

Update: I checked my current car and the part#'s are the 797 and 798, so I can't imagine they are used on the 760 as well with larger rotors/calipers.
