750i Exhaust burble with tune

Pretty happy with the tune, lots of torque increase along with exhaust burble

Special thanks to mrgicm here on the forum for: Full screen carplay, car lowering and ID5->ID6 and other goodies

Also, if anyone know how to code display key with M logo (Canadian car) Please help!

What mods are done to the exhaust?

It was a pleasure did you use bootmod3 for the tuning? The car sounds perfect

I would definitely like the burble and HP gains, but I'm assuming that would toss my warranty out the window.

Yes it would, if you needed any warranty for the powertrain.

You can always flash back before getting any warranty work done. I doubt they will check for this kind of stuff on a 7 series.

For non power train issues, I don't worry about flashing back to stock. If I have power train issues or codes, I return to stock before going in. With my F10 M5 and the 7, never had any warranty issues or rejections.

How long does the flashing process take? Wouldn't they be able to know that it had been flashed if there was a powertrain issue?

It's not a flash, just coding of the air ride suspension. No more than 30 minutes or less.

Theoretically, since it's not spec settings, they could void the suspension warranty. It's easily reversible and not traceable. Not much different than coding your dash to alpina or anti-dazzle headlights.

What benefits did you get by upgrading from ID5 to ID6 other than CarPlay?

The dealer would know, it happened to me few months ago when I added CarPlay and started to experience all kind of issues. I brought the car to the dealer and didn't say anything about CarPlay. It told them that I was getting all kinds of error messages on the iDrive occasionally. When the dealer attempted to flash the ECU, whatever code I had locked the ECU and dealer could not re-flash ti, they had to contact BMW Canada to release something on the car in order to re-flash the ECU. Even though I'm still under the original warranty I had to pay for the programming. BMW Canada almost voided my original and extended warranty...

I'm not sure about Canada law but in the US they only void was was tampered with. So if you loaded corrupted software, theoretically they had every right to not warranty the work and force you to pay for the repairs. In the US they could not legally void an entire warranty unless they can prove that it also impacted drive train.

The reason this happened is that you had your Carplay activated the old and improper way where your Headunit has to be patched (jailbreaked) in orther to accept Carplay FSC, but along with the Jailbreak all other FSC codes (maps, apps, speech etc.) are also patched, so you dont have any OEM FSC in your car along with a corrupt software in your Head Unit.

While dealer software ISTA tries to make calculation and scan needed to preform an update it is not getting the correct read and response and that is the reason they were not able to flash your car. This flash has to be done with Esys targeting the Head Unit Only in order to flash back to normal.

BMW has disabled the possibilities of this USB activations from Software I step level 18-11. When Carplay is activated with normal FSC then there is no problem with the dealer.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, I will wait a bit longer and see if people with the new way of flashing are experiencing any issues or errors before adding CarPlay back as I really liked it. I enjoyed using Google maps with live traffic on full screen as well as answer messages etc.

So I have a silly question hopefully someone can help me out with this now I have a 18 g12 my CarPlay works flawlessly and I picked up recently a 16 g12 to be used as my daily commuter and when my vin was ran it has all the components necessary for CarPlay so why won't the dealer or connected drive activate it why should I have to go the Bimmer tech route to get something activated that's already in the car and needs to just be activated ? I'm totally lost on this one if someone out there can school me would very much appreciate it cause it has the antennas has the WiFi which to me is a scam cause ur paying twice for it to work meaning paying connected drive and paying AT&T for something that's actually already in use cause if u notice the WiFi sends out two signals one u have a password for the other is locked locked one is what connected drive uses for there stuff

When I picked up my car from a local BMW dealer, the Carplay wasn't activated, they wanted to charge me $300 if I want it activated, but since I'm buying the car I got them to do it for free. The delivery guy did something on the computer and then the next day the Carplay option is there.

What year is your car? I'm really curious to know how your dealer managed to activated for you! My dealer tried to activate the CarPlay when I bought before delivery but they came back and said it cannot be done and for that reason I had to use this third party software which screwed up everything for me!

What country are you in?

Apple CarPlay is added through connected drive store or you can call and it's an OTA (over-the-air) Push. Im not sure what the costs is today, I think I paid $300 for 20 years or something like that.

Fairly simple installation.
