All US models will be G12 long wheelbase cars, but will be badged i, not Li.
The traditional nomenclature will apply to cars sold in other parts of the world where the short wheelbase car will be available. This is a great cost saving move by BMW as they will save by not buying all those extra L's (Ha!) Actually it is needlessly confusing, but remember when they changed from iL to Li in 2002? Why not confuse us! |

In Canada both are available. Interestingly, the M- Sport package is standard on the short (G11) and optional on the long (G12), so no "plain" G11's up here. All the fancy rear seat executive package stuff is only offered for the G12.
