There's an Alpina in the house!

Woo hoo! OMG, what a car!

As you can see from my sig, I've owned a few BMWs, including 3 7 series, but this is my first Alpina.

2018 B7. I picked it up yesterday from the seller, a very nice gent 2.5 hours from my home, who kept just fantastic care of the car, it is literally just like new with I kid you not - less than 7K miles on it. It has over 7K now after the drive home (where I got a stunning 30 MPG) and I love it.

I was going to order a new M550ix but can't get an allocation, none of the dealers that have one in stock have anything close to what I wanted in options or colors except for the ones that were already sold, and so I started looking at used B7s but they all have more miles than I'm comfortable with or cost too much money or have accident history or all three.

Yes, I paid too much, yes, the market is crazy, yes, it barely fits in my garage, and yes I don't know how to use half of the options (yet) but it is exactly what I want. Extreme luxury with stunning performance.

Bad cell phone pic after I got it home last night. I'll wash it when it stops snowing this weekend.

Congrats! Enjoy in good health.

Let us know if that 203mph top speed is real or a myth. 😉

Thanks. That's the neighbor's place. She hates it when I park in the cul-de-sac.

I took this recent shot of our place after I'd spent the day working on the lighting.

Congrats great find ! And so close to home how woul you compare to driving a 5 series ? How long do you plan to keep it and how much did you pay for it since you mentioned it.

The 5 vs. 7 driving experience is really night and day. The 5 is a luxury sport sedan, depending on how it's configured (sport package, engine, etc.) determines where it fits on the scale between luxury and sport. The 7 is a luxury car, period. The Alpina ramps up the luxury even more, and then bumps up performance by another factor. Aside from the engine improvements, the difference between "comfort" and "sport" is much greater in the B7 than the 750. It handles extremely well for what it is, but it is still a 4800 lb. car and all of the suspension wizardry can't hide that.

Every car I buy I plan to keep forever. But I tire of it, or something newer/shinier/faster comes along, and they go. So, who knows?

And no, I'm not sharing what I paid, largely out of embarrassment. The used car market is ridiculous and this one was at the top.

wesome car, I considered owning one myself but after owning five Seven series, I was ready for something else. I bought the G80 like you without a test drive but I just wanted to be in a sporty car after so many years in a luxury car. If I could afford it, the B7 would be in the garage beside the M3.

These america houses put all uk housing to shame! I have cousins in LA and NY and their houses are insanely cool.
Mine looks like a tent compared to the 1st house above. Stupid uk gov with their greedy needs and parties

Btw enjoy that B7.
