Got quoted $7400 for "Platinum" warranty
for 36 months and 75K miles. Platinum covers Everything including iDrive, electronics etc.
"Gold" was quoted $6100, same duration. But no iDrive, internal electronics. so I feel the platinum upgrade is worth it, with the recent drive issues that have been posted. My warranty runs out end of this month, I have 27K miles on the clock and don't really put more than 6K on per yr. Although, car is highly optioned and has all the toys that can fail, soft close, ACC, LKA, comfort ventilated seats. Pay it and take it? I kinda love the car and don't really want anything else right now. warranty should be transferrable to next owner right? So I can recover some cost if/when I sell it? Its the BMW extended warranty from the dealer. Can I do better elsewhere? Should I put 7500 in the market instead and roll the dice. I had initially thought of using my indy since I really did not have many issues with my F10 535 after warranty, but that car did not have as many "toys" Thoughts?

New quote
So Patriot warranty just quoted me 2800 no deductible 5 years 100k miles. All electronics and mechanical, repair at BMW dealer. What in the actual Fvk!!!
How much margin do these guys have anyway? Is Patriot any good?

Another quote by Endurance..
Endurance, better rated than Patriot, quoted $4300 for everything BUT $100 deductible, and their highest level coverage, that kinda makes my Tire and wheel insurance redundant, but removing it doesn't change the quote. Also, can do any all claims at local BMW dealer. Also, 5YR till I hit 81,000 miles (which I won't)
I'm leaning towards them right now since they seem to have a better reputation. Any opinions on any of these? Pretty sure I would have spent 4-5K in the next five years on repairs, RIGHT? Its transferrable too, so raises resale?

Now that I have the M760xi, my deductible is still $50 with no issues with any BMW dealerships from New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, & Florida. I do a lot of driving. My only complaint is you can only get 3 rims replaced under warranty per year, but I'd didn't buy the rim warranty and have already replaced 4 rims in 2 years. |

I haven't got these quotes yet BTW, I think one of them is Allstate a $40 Billion company. It was only after I spoke to this dealer that I started to talk to out of BMW warranty companies. I'm also considering my original plan again. Since all these guys seem the same, should I even get a warranty? At least when you pay out of pocket you own what you buy during the repair and its a fair transaction and you don't feel cheated !!!

Possibly you are unaware of the history your word choice above. Jipped is not a word. The correct spelling is Gypped. It is a racist word deriving from hatred and distrust towards Gypsies/Romani people. Similar anti-Semitic synonyms are also ignorantly used by people. Be careful of your word choices. It is an ugly word, with a racist origin and negative connotations.

I call my sell's person in Delaware and they confirmed that for full warranty as if the vehicle was new for $8400 (100k miles or total 7-years) just like the original 50k mile warranty that comes with all bmw's. My deductible is still $50 for any issues. I have until I hit 50,000 miles to make the purchase. There's no cap on any repairs and it would also include all maintenance until 100,000 miles. The thing that I like about the factory warranty is that it can be used at any BMW dealership (no questions asked) and they don't have to call another company to get pre-approval. I look at all the risk factors, such as any motor or transmission work for the V-12 will be more than $10k. |

Finished the saga today.
Pulled the trigger on highest level CNA warranty through Fields BMW in Northfield, IL. About $4,100 and 1,500 less than Allstate that has MORE exclusions than CNA somehow. 48 months, 32500 miles till 60K total. (Ending October 2025) Paid in full today, so no financing charges.
Had to drive in this afternoon for a pre warranty inspection for $200, but lo and behold he noticed a pulsating in the brakes that I didn't and its getting fixed next week for free with a loaner under new car warranty. The Service tech has both his cars under CNA too! Coincidentally, the wheel and tire warranty that I have till 2026 for $2600 is from CNA as well. Dont know if that had anything to do with a favorable quote. For those interested, Exclusions are: "Accessory drive belt(s), hoses, radiator cap, tubes and clamps Antenna mast and mirrors Audio speakers and wiring Body, body panels, body fasteners, chassis frame and bumpers Brake drums, rotors, pads and linings Bright metal, trim, upholstery, carpet, insulation and paint Convertible top Exhaust system and catalytic converter Filters and filter housings Fuses and fusible links Glass, including fogged or hazy headlight lenses Jack and tool kit, wheel lugs and lug nuts Manual transmission clutch disc, pressure plate and throw-out bearing Natural gas/propane fuel system PCV valve, oil separator and fuel vapor canister Spark plugs, plug wires and glow plugs Starting, lighting, ignition (SLI) battery Tires, wheels and wheel covers Windshield wiper rubber inserts" Thats it!! Everything else is fair game. $0 deductible all new BMW parts. These, I'm told are less than the CPO exclusions. I do have a separate wheel and Tire warranty including cosmetic. Since Ive bought a car from Fields before I feel very comfortable doing business with them as there is no claim filing on my part, they will deal directly with CNA for a $0 deductible. I will pay for maintenance of course, but that was expected. Hope this information is helpful for anyone else struggling with this decision. Frankly, I'm super happy. BTW if I sell the car, I get a pro-rated refund! so this was a no brainer.

Thought there was a bmw dealer based out of california (?) who could give the lowest quote possible on Plantinum?
But that was last year and everything inflated since so it might no longer be relevant anymore. |
