RACECHIP issues regarding the check engine light. I would love if someone is able to help me. I might've plugged it into the o2 sensor instead of the turbo boost pressure sensor. If so, where would the turbo boost pressure sensor be.

Nice one glad it's sorted I was toying with the idea of a racechip but I'm no good with DIY stuff.

Yeah, you should definitely go for RACECHIP. I was just overwhelmed with how tight everything is for a N63 engine. The reason that I got the sensors mixed up is because they all look the same. However, the clips were the giveaway that helped me correct the location.

RACECHIP is also very helpful. Even though my harness was faulty, they're willing to send me a new harness.

Any reason you opted for this over BM3?

I went for RACECHIP over BM3 because BM3 was but more expensive, but it wasn't main reason why I didn't get it. The main reason because it can a little more difficult to change it to stick setting than RACECHIP. In my opinion, I saw that RACECHIP was easier to remove than BM3. I would love to learn more about BM3 though.

This helps since I just bought Racechip and the illustration in the directions look nothing like the actual engine.

Exactly! The instructions are based off the BMW S63 engine. Indeed, the engine is similar, but the sensors are not in the same location. I really wished RACECHIP gave better instructions.

I'm having some issues with a Racechip install on my 2018 750... were your TMAP sensors on the bottom of your intercoolers? Looks like it from the photos but just want to confirm. I'm like 95% confident I have the harness plugged in correctly but the Racechip ECU will not light up with the ignition on or engine running. With the deactivation plug in, the car runs perfect like stock, no check engine light or faults BUT when I plug in the Racechip it feels like it has more power and then jolts / cuts out under moderate/heavy throttle. So to me it seems like the Racechip is working and just needs changed to a different map but the screen or buttons are not working... No idea. Waiting to hear back from Racechip and it doesnt help their support is in Germany.

Do you mind sending me pictures so that I can help you. It seems to me that your harness is plugged in properly. However, there could be a problem with the RACECHIP Module itself. Also, what map setting are you currently on?

If you can, please send me pictures of where you plugged the harness (male end) and the BMW turbo boost sensor (female end)

*Both the passenger and driver side sensors please*

Racechip got back to me, they believe the harness is installed correctly based on the below photos and think it’s an issue with the RC ECU. They already have another one on the way while they wait for mine to be sent back. I can’t tell what map I’m in since the RC ECU screen doesn’t light up/turn on.

Perfect! It’s an easy process too since RC will pay for the shipping and they ship within 1 week. Let me know when you are able to re-install the RC module.

For both the wiring Harness (A&B) are you plugging in to the sensors at the bottom of the intercooler?

Yes, both at the bottom. For the A side, the connection is on the driver side and on the B side, the connection is on the front side.

UPDATE: I got home last night after being out of town for a week and installed the new race chip ECU and it worked instantly. Harness was installed properly hence why the car was running fine with the race chip bypass plug installed.

Now I just need to find the best map… maps 1,2 are similar to stock and maps 4-6 seem to have the most “power” on the butt dyno. Map 7 runs fine but doesn’t seem to have the top end… I’m open to input!!

I’m glad that your RACECHIP worked fine! So far, I really love Map 7. it’s been reliable for both my M550i and 750i. I’ve had it on my 750i for over 15k miles and 4k miles on my M550i. Although it isn’t quite as potent as an OTS tune, Racechip still sure makes it a night and day difference between stock power.
