YouTube, Disney, etc... on Rear Entertainment
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a literally child proof way of giving my daughter an easy way to stream a couple of her favorite apps on the rear screens. I have a ton of movies for her already on a USB stick but she also does other "channels". I'm between 2 options: 1. AppleTV connected thru HDMI I got it working more or less but the Apple TV booting every time I start the car is a pain and it seems that the HDMI is also very flaky when the TV starts (had to plus and unplug it a couple of times). Plus it adds another little annoying remote easy to loose in a black car. On the plus side, she knows how to use the interface 2. Android Tablet using Screen Mirroring I'm thinking a "cheap" tablet I can leave in the back, connected to the car hotspot and casting to the Rear Entertainment. I tried with an old Samsung Kid tablet and I cannot manage to do the screen mirroring. Despite trying a few different apps (BTW, do I need these stupid mirroring apps on Android??) Does anyone has a reliable and working system to mirror a tablet on the car screen? I mean something that just works... Thanks in advance, Jean-Luc |

I've got Apple TV and it's working perfectly for me. I don't have any problems with HDMI. Perhaps check the cable or video settings. I'm using a 5G iPhone as a Hotspot as the car offers only 4G.
The other possibility would be a simple tablet. But this case you don't use the rear screens. I don't have any experience with mirroring. |

Actually I was trying the A1625 model (4th gen) as I had one lying around and the conversion to 12V via USB-C is fairly straightforward.
May I ask how to feed your Apple TV? Did you buy an already converted one? |

I just picked up a 2019 M760i. I was wondering if it's possible to have my I phone's screen displayed on the back monitors via HDMI cable or do I have to get Apple TV?

Before Apple TV I used my iphone with the HMDI cable.
But unfortunatly some content are blocked over the cable. I think Amazon or Netflix, I don't remember exactly. The only way I found was using an apple TV box... |
