Nice. I like how it is integrated into the keyfob. However, I like Land Rover's remote control better

Gimmicky, junk. Why would I need this? Seems much faster to just do it myself.

So BMW thinks that people who can afford a 7 series can't afford a parking space big enough to fit it in?

Technology = convenience (+ cool showoff)

This is like how some people say "rich people don't care about fuel efficient vehicle!"

This is suppose to be impressive how? You can park it faster yourself. Who'd want to park that close to another car anyway? Lame

Wanna see cool tech? Check these drones out and call me when a BMW can do anything near what these things can.

Reading through some comments, not sure how useful it is in the real world, but its nice if some moron parks really close to you and you can just back it out and get in comfortably instead of trying to squeeze in.

I have a bad back with limited mobility of the lower spine.

To get in and out comfortably I need my door to be wide open. I would love to have this feature. I have often encountered situations where this would have been very useful. It doesn't necessarily need to be a "tight" parking space.

Also, worldwide the average age of 7 series owners tend to be old enough that some percentage will have degenerative spines, knees etc.

I am sure they would also appreciate being able to pull the vehicle in/out where there is more space to open their doors and get in and out comfortably.

I can see women with small children benefiting from this. I know my wife used to have trouble getting my little guy in and out of the car, with his detachable car seat, if another car was parked too close. A mom, by herself, doesn't have the luxury of backing the car out to give herself more room to put the baby in the car. This way she can stand outside the spot, holding the infant car seat, allow the car to back up enough to open the door completely, and put the child in. It seems gimmicky, but so do most technologies until we find a use for them.

Lol, yes. That's the fundamental point of it. If you use this in public.....your asking for the peeps parked next to you to fuck your shit up. If.....for some reason you own a 7 series yet live in a condo.......boom, Bobs your uncle and your stoked!

If the space was too tight, other than at home, then you get door dings. I don't think you would feel happy then.

I wonder if BMW could develop a "reverse launch control with bootleg turn transition."
So the car would launch backward, do a 180, and then continue under max acceleration.
All under computer control. That would be cool.

New 7 has some good Yankee Tank appeal for sure, but some side door roll down inflatable curtains to protect doors would be cool.
