Called the dealer just now and the ETA is now 28 September.

That'd be 153 days or 5 months on the nose since I ordered it back in April.

They're still happy to loan me the free M440i in the meantime. I offered to swap it over with a 7 or 8 series if he needed this one back.

I'll keep you posted.
Called my dealer and as usual no response from my sales contact (despite reception info that he's in the showroom and will call back). It's 3rd time this happened so maybe it's time to visit the place myself again (this seems to be the only way for me to get any update).
According to my last genius chat it will also be around 5 months from order to delivery.

I get that we can have delays due to lack of the parts, but lack of any contact is something that surprised me.

I would say that this isn’t good enough, and would start by raising it with the dealers Head of Business, and then BMW UK if you get no joy.

I am not hearing any issues of 7’s waiting for parts, as what BMW and others are doing is either removing options, or taking options out of packs and reducing the pack price, where supply issues are biting (mainly chip shortages). Our raw factory build is c. 12 weeks from order to build, so anything more than 16 weeks order to key feels wrong. Sounds like the dealer you ordered from didn’t have any allocation so maybe delayed placing the order for a month or so.

I had an email from Jaguar a few weeks ago, and they are going to be delivering cars with only 1 key during the chip shortage, so impacting each manufacturer in different ways.

I agree with MarkR; kick it up a notch and escalate.

Delays are one thing, but poor comms are another.

S7 ordered mid July (UK), expected delivery early November, now slipped to the end of December. I'm not holding my breath though, I don't think even Santa can bring this one down the chimney

I'd expect that around this date we should start getting next gen.
My order from June is nowhere to be seen and I'll be lucky if it arrives in 2021. I do consider cancelling and taking "old" 6 series for 1 year while waiting for new 7 series.

Ordered my 730d on 28th April and still waiting for it. Originally quoted 1st July and then 1st Sept. Was about to cancel thinking that the Lease company were playing silly games, until I saw this thread.

Now supposed to be entering the UK on Sunday (21st Nov) so hopefully wont be too long now.

If I had known it was going to be this long I would have bought and sold a second hand car, but ended up borrowing a Cheve Spark! The difference is going to be amazing when I actually get the 7 series!!

Hang in there buddy, took me 5 months 13 days to get mine this year, as noted in this thread.

Everything it's super smooth, luxurious and quiet whilst still being able to hustle a bit when you want to, plus I love the LCI looks and wanted one with executive drive pro so ordered a new one with it, it's a great car IMO and great value.

Good news, the car has now arrived at Southampton docks so will hopefully be with the dealer in a week or so

Mine was with logistics team (in Germany) 3-4 days ago, so I've heard that I can expect it around new year eve. Ordered at the beginning of June, so I do hope to see it soon.

I am truly debating between Donnington and Dravit.

Very difficult because they are unique in their own way.

I also considered Dravit, as it's quite unique and looks great in sunlight. Finally settled on phytonic blue. I'm really curious how it will look, as it seems there are almost no 7 series in this colour at all (at least in UK). I've seen it on X7 and it was pretty nice.

I chose Dravit over Donnington because of the variation Dravit gives it's a real shape shifter in terms of hue from sparkling bronze through to flat mid grey amazing paint.

I have a quick question for all new Series 7 UK owners. Was your car fitted with a Trackstar S7? It looks like mine will have one (fitted in the UK), but it has not been specified on the order. I'm confused why its got one unless they have realised most UK insurers now require it, so just fit it!!??
