16' G11 740i Driver Side Door Key Hole Cover

Good Morning everyone,
So I have a 2016 BMW 740i And my color is in the black graphite. I noticed that I am missing my driver side door keyhole cover. It must have flew off somewhere after I reattached it after having to remove it to open my door manually. I might not have put it back properly so within a few days, I noticed it was gone. I’m looking at parts diagrams online and I cannot seem to find this cover separately. It seems like it comes with the whole handle. If anyone knows where I can find one or has one for sale in black graphite, that would be awesome to point me in the right direction. I’ve attached the photo. Thanks n happy Sunday

Looks like you are looking for BMW P/N 51217474681, which comes primed, but not painted from a BMW Dealership Parts Counter.

This should be small enough for you to paint this w/o too much effort using a two part rattle can paint kit from Amazon that provides your base color code (found on your B-pillar VIN tag) in 1 can, and clear coat in another.

Wide thank you so much and for getting back to this so quickly. That’s exactly what I was looking for. 🤓

Save your paint for the front tow hook cover to come off next....

Doesn't seem like the cover creates much of an environmental seal for the barrel mechanism. Think I should pop mine off, give it a good clean and lube up, seeing as it has never come off yet.

I thought the take away from the OP's situation was that once removed, and disturbing the "crud", you'll eventually loose the cover.....which means you should just leave yours alone.....yes, it's not environmentally sealed, but those environmental contaminates are now keeping the cover intact....

I know, that would be the rational takeaway, but I just cant help myself. I yearly clean all the underbody paneling and drain gutters so I guess I could add that to my maintenance as well. I'll try to be careful.

Raimo5 I was just rubbing you a bit...

On topic though, my G12's front tow hook cover won't stay put....not sure why the dealer took it off during the 4-wheel alignment process. I've had to buy and paint the darn thing 3 times now.

Perhaps they damaged bumper side so it wont clip properly anymore? Also, what is that tail with a loop on that cover for?

I think they bumped by bumper...and it's slightly distorted...Oh well...I didn't have too much faith in my local Stealer...

The plastic tail is supposed to keep the cover tethered to the bumper when using the tow hook, but if the cover falls off while driving above 55MPH as the wind is too much for that cheap plastic tail, and it becomes highway filler.
