Angry Rant about my Z

:mad::mad::mad::mad:Ok so I have a 2006 Nissan 350z

Now please don't turn this into a bmw rules and nissan is a pos thread because that isn't my intention

I just need to vent. So heres my story.

At approx. 27000 miles my Z is diagnosed with 4.3/5 qts of oil consumed. New long block replace.

At 30k I notice another oil problem, take it in, bring it back at 32k they say no problem found. Ok I tell them to start the test again ill bring it back at 35.5k.

Also around 30k my a/c compressor fails, and my fuel pump is acting funky.

ok saturaday 35.3k miles. Take it in for oil consumption test, excessive grinding noise with a/c on, and excessive drivetrain chatter.

-Result

Keeping mind I have no performance mods done.

Needs new long block
Needs new transmission
unknown about a/c at this time.

Rant- damnint I can't believe I spent 30k on a 2 stroke engine. This car is supposed to be the pride and joy of nissan. I know all cars have their problems but TWO FRICKEN ENGINE BLOCKS, this is rediculous.

I was strongly considering buying the gt-r now im not so sure i can ever trust nissan again. I'm kinda glad im going german because the japanese auto industry has nothing to offer me. /RANT

Sorry, sounds like you have some problem they're not seeing or you just have a lemon there. Definately not typical for any car, much less a Nissan.

Actually the vq in the '06 model year has been known to have excessive oil consumption, but damn two blocks already

The rev up engine oil consumption problem is pretty common (in relation to car problems in general), sort of like 335i fuel pumps; difference is a new long block is basically a new engine and a really high percentage of guys that get new engines just experience the same problem. I know a guy with an '06 G35 that's had 3 engines. I'd lemon it, tbh.

Sounds like a "lemon". Hope you were leasing the car...

i know someone who had his VQ engine replaced 3 times on a G35 coupe. the rev-up engine is known for it. I almost thought mine had it too.

but changing tranny and all that? wow, you must be really unlucky. I havent heard of a person with so many problems all at the same time.

When i thought my car was consuming oil i had a rant thread on 6mt.net.

it's actually more common. if you go to G35Driver there's a huge thread on people with that problem. I'd say it's almost as common as fuel pump failure problem the e92 has.

they do change your engine for free, but it's annoying that you have to go back and forth and deal with it. it just sucks

If there is one reason to "lease" a car over "buy", you would be it.

my friend works at a Nissan dealership and he told me that people bring in their 350Zs for service almost daily. There are a lot of problems with that car. Never thought it was true until now.

Since you're close to the end of warranty, do they have some kind of stipulation that they have to continue to honor pre-existing problems once you're past 36000 miles?

They want me to drive it for another 2k miles, they are full aware that i am about out of warranty and they will honor it after the 36k
