Bowers & wilkins doesn't worth even 500$

Hello guys, this is my opinion as an audiophile.
I have B&W surround sound system in my 2016 BMW 750li and i had both B&O and H&K systems. At lower volumes the HK, B&W and B&O are the same due to sound quality, but B&O is better at higher volume levels. The clarity, the tonal balance, and the sound stage and Bass are awesome in the B&O system at higher volume levels.
One of the most reasons i sold my BMW f02 was the B&W, but when i bought the G12 i find out the B&O is so much better than B&W.
the B&W doesn't worth its price, it light up with LEDs at night and this is beautifull but not good for sound quality. I can't believe it has a 1400Watts power, it's a lie.

Depends what you use for a source of music
For me satellite radio sounds muddy, playing from iPhone is better, a good FM station is good and CD's provide the best quality sound
Someone on the forum here plays music files from a thumb drive that are configured in a high quality format
Im looking for that post because i want to try that also

As you said it depends on sources, for example Cd’s, but when you use CD for all 3 sound systems, its quality would change for all not only for B&W, if you want to know the sound quality of B&W and if it is 1400watts! you only need to listen it at higher volume level.

Can't comment on the B & W system as I don't have that. I get on okay with the HK system in mine and indeed do find the sound source makes a significant difference to the sound quality. The HK system is fine for a 'car' IMO, however, everyone has different expectations and indeed hears things differently.

As to the file format, likely it was a lossless format or VBR (variable bit rate) if you are below 320 kbps. Depends on the type of music (genre) and your age (frequency range you'll likely be still able to hear!)...

I find the online entertainment option (here in the UK at least) is best 'native' sound available, followed by a good FM signal followed by DAB (to my ears). A CD, or compressed 'ripped' file (whether AAC/MP3, etc...) will depend wildly on the recording itself, the type of music and the road conditions/tires, etc...

DAB was meant to be better than analogue but I still hear far too much reduction in the frequency range as the compression seems to do poorly with classical music as well as any large changes in dynamic range to my ears. An AAC ripped at 256 using VBR works for me but I have a limited hearing capability and like a wide range of music genres. YMMV.

Safe travels and happy listening!

I’ve got the B&W and think it’s great, a big step up from the HK system in my 2014 F11.

B&W isn't the greatest ever...my Dirac BMW individual on my 2010 M6 is the best I've ever had so far. With that said, the lights and stainless steel add with the B&W add value to me and if you have rear entertainment, the lounge setting is amazing for rear passengers. The key is adjusting the EQ...I've played around with my B&W for a long time and it's much better than default, but I know I haven't adjusted it to the sweet spot...really makes a difference.

On my Dirac it took 2 years before I found the perfect EQ adjustments and it's world class. I tried duplicating the same adjustments but given the different size of interior and speaker locations, it's not a simple copy and paste.

Does anyone feel they have the perfect EQ adjustment for their B&W on a G12?

Cheers
