I personally like it, but damn does that front remind me of the Jeep Cherokee.

Yea, it's still absolutely horrific. Will age just like the pre LCI e65 did. Revolution for the sake of staying relevant.
I'm intrigued by the people who keep banging on about the updated / cutting edge tech etc. Maybe I am in the minority, but I love cars for their design first and foremost. If I don't like looking at it, there's no chance I am ever going to buy it. For me, tech is well behind performance, driving feel etc.. It's kinda like Tesla. I admire and appreciate the technology, but you can't for one second tell me that a Tesla is a "car guys," car. They are for gadget guys who are into having an iPad for a dashboard - just not my thing. Like everything in life, to each his own, but that is not what BMW was built on.

Looks like a knockoff of a 7 series. The Coby 7 series.

Have to admit this color doesn't look good on this car.

It aint that bad. But it also aint good. The grill size isn't the issue for me, its the style of it, too busy. Split headlight is odd

Thinking exactly the same thing about the lights, at first I thought it looked 'cool' (the Jeep) but after a few 'exposures' it just didn't work…. I think the same thing will happen here…

This car needs a “fake headlight” decal to fill the space between the DRLs and the beams. Something like this: https://www.firestormgraphix.com/hai...ecal-1213.html

Not trying to hate, but I literally thought it was some wired electric crossover with an SUV styled front end at first... Maybe I should go to sleep now

In Malaysia, where I reside, the 7 has fared better against the S-class with each generation as the 7's design has become bolder and more luxury-focused. Here, like many countries in Asia, the S and 7 are primarily used as chauffeur-driven cars. Because of this, the 7 has historically lost out to the S because it had typically less ' visual presence' and less emphasis on the 'boss's rear seat accommodation'. So yes, the 7 has become more tailored to regions that prioritize in-your-face styling over subtle styling.

Now now, please don't tempt fate; they'll design something more radical (<<< being polite here)

The G8X grew on me after seeing it in person.
The iX somehow got uglier after seeing it in person. This new 7 will likely not grow on me either. I just don't get who at bmw is looking at these new cars and says "yes this is a great car and it encompasses what the brand is about." Bmw to me is about the perfect blend of luxury and performance and has an exterior look to match the aggression of the car. I can't really say that that's what bmw is about anymore. I know bmw needs to sell cars and is trying to appeal to a crowd that previously didn't buy bmw's, but it feels like they're alienating a lot of their core fans. But it might be safe for them as long as they don't stray too far away on their main money makers (3 series, x3, etc) At this point, it feels like bmw is being obtusely polarising for the sake of being polarising.. and it's getting boring and stale.

The question is what are the worldwide sales as the US market isn't the driver for all luxury cars anymore. Certain models are more suited to US tastes and others are not.
The US only makes up 4-5 % of the worlds population all be it we are amongst the wealthest nations. Luxury sedans aren't our market it's SUVs and Trucks lol |

I am not a fan of the blacked out car look which the posted picture resembles. Also the completely closed off grill of electric cars is just too much plastic. I thought the lower bumper shown here was for the gas model with the more rounded lower bumper for the electric. While I do not hate it visually from the outside, it is not love at first site. Maybe the open grill of the gas version will improve the front. Also some better wheels, but most electric car wheels are not great but have a more aerodynamic goal.
