BMW extending warranty for radiator flaps ~ 15 years /150K milesK

Received this morning, as did many BMW owners cira 2017-2019 model years.

I had this issue with mine last year but original warranty covered. I know it is a recurring problem so glad BMW addressed it by issuing a 15 year / 150,000 mile warranty extension.[ATTACH][/ATTACH]

This is such a common defect; both my 2016 750 and 2018 X3 40 had it. The X3's happened at 1 year and was covered by warranty. The 750's happened after the standard 4-year warranty and BMW declined to cover it because it was not included in the TSB.

I saw this in another thread for the pre-2017 cars, but I see that once again, I am SOL, with a 2018 B7. Which, BTW, has had the shutters replaced twice already, under warranty.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 2018 B7 and replaced my shutters twice now under the CPO warranty. The car is now out of warranty and I bet any day now the shutters are going to go out again. I wonder why the left out the 2018 in this extended warranty?

Maybe out of all of the cars sold in the USA, we are the only two that have had the problem?

I'm sure they'll come around eventually. If not, I would hope that if something does happen again, they'll do it as a goodwill repair since they are covering nearly every other car that has them.
