New BMW M3 sedan concept at Frankfurt Motor Show

I just read that the new bmw m3 e90 sedan will be shown as a concept at the Frankfurt motor show in september of 2005.
It will be released in 2006 as a production model. And i think that this information is for four door sedan M3 version, which everyone is expecting. Coupe will follow in the spring of 2007.
This info seems very logical because of the m3 coupe and coupe timelines:
Spring 2006: BMW E92 coupe
Spring 2007: BMW E93 M3 coupe
and
Spring 2005: BMW E90 Sedan (already happened)
Spring/Sumer 2006: BMW E90 M3 Sedan
I'm looking forward to see the new m3 sedan concept on the Frankfurt motor show in september of 2005.
It will have 4.0 litres engine with 415HP.

I don't know about 2006; there was about 3 year gap between e46 328 and M3. The unknown is 335 - it's unlikey that both would be offered at the same time

Of course. But you haven't read my post with care. It's about m3 sedan (four doors) e90, not about coupe.

There is only e46 m3 coupe, there is no sedan m3 e46. And m3 was released a year after the normal coupe, so it should be quite logical that if there is going to be sedan m3 it would be released a year after normal sedan. So the right time for concept car should be september at Frankfurt Motor Show.

This is only one source:
http://www.germancarfans.com/spyphot...id/6050228.001

It says 2005 Frankfurt debut.
I have to find another one.

There is one guy scott26 his claiming that the new m3 will have 440HP And one guy said that scott should be taken seriously, let's hope

That's because E36 M3 production ran to mid 99. So there was only a 2-year gap between the 2 M3 generations.

Production of E46 M3 will not stop until Q2 2006. So I don't think the E90 M3 will come out until a year after that. And if I have to guess, I'd say it will be the coupe first.

Our allocations of E46 M3 Coupe have already stoped here in South Africa in June and the last cabrios will arrive before year end. So M3 production will come to a hault before Feb 2006.

The stoppages were confirmedd by BMW SA because a friend of mine wanted to get a coupe and they said sorry none can be ordered from the factory anymore ( allE46 M3's are made in Germany)

Any thoughts on the speculation that all the 335turbo stuff may be prep for the coupe/cabrio folding top 4 series (and exclusuive to that model)?

No 335i wil be a sedan at first, sometime mid to late next year (in europe)

Very reliable source said the 4 Series (coupe/cabrio with composite folding roof) design has changed and will not be based on the E92 coupe

BMW showed the M5 as a concept before releasing it. Anyone remember how far ahead that was?

BTW, did you see the new spy pics in that thread above?

I am thinking maybe BMWNA is correct in saying that 335 will not make it to the States since U.S. market is very important for them, and the turbo's reliability cannot be assured at this point

Yes Some of the pictures. I guess they tried to cover most of the stuff up so that it looks like a normal E90. I saw it had big brakes, bbs LMs and 4 exhaust tips. Oh and they did something to the hood to accomidate the V8 or something.

Hmmm, the 335 will arrive mid to late 2006 for europe. That is real slow if they hope to keep up with competition in the US market; c'est la vie. Any word on any engines other than 325 for USA touring?

Thanks for the great info E90Fleet
